[MMouse]: Re: Digest modestmouse.v001.n393
i dont like this whole epic thing, MM is not a major label band. the influence is really going to all the wierd shit that weve come to love as MM. id be a little salty if i picked up the new album and it were all clean and tight. it just wouldnt be MM. i dont like the whole "inde/emo" trend here, its not that people are discovering it, but it is that Warner brother , and disney are, isnt 90% of the world enough for them?
[MMouse]: caP'n jazz vs. Braid
>yeah, but he did. no big deal. in the liner notes of the cap'n jazz discography it mentions that the line "i'm dying to tell you i'm dying" was taken from bob nanna. i think that's the line. i dont have it right in front of me. yep. thats it. " im dying to tell you im dying. i dont need a reason..." dammit. now that song is stuck in my head. well. i appologize. i didnt realize that. and i thank you for correcting me civilly. andyway. im sure tim just really liked that line. he is an amazing lyricist himself. -wyatt ___ Get the Internet just the way you want it. Re: Re: [MMouse]: tristeza
wow. i remember when tristeza would come up for the weekend from San Diego and play coffee houses. I love when the bands i accidentally saw a whole bunch of times in high school make it to mailing list land... Karina
Re: [MMouse]: tristeza

Re: [MMouse]: joan of arc...
I saw Joan of Arc the other night here in Boston. They were amazing. The whole show, Tim Kinsella was really excited because he said they were playing much better than they had been on the tour. He said that especially the night before (which I guess was Philly) they played horribly. So, maybe that explains somethingplus the fact that summer shows in the church suck. I'm originally from philly, and havent been to a church show in ages. anyway, like i said, i was amazed at how good they were live. Tim Kinsella has a great stage presence...and euphone was rad too. *meredith*
[MMouse]: long time. got some questions
alright. i haven't been doin the whole list thing for a long time...been rather busy, so i just got off work and i'm trying to catch up...i've got a few questions and maybe a comment. first-the EPit's only on CD on the japanese version of up or k or something, right? and only available at shows? and they have a new full length CD coming out on epic?.when? i am happy for them, if the epic thing is what they want/need, but i do worry about the label influence, everyone does. but i would think that they would sign a contract that allows for enough freedom to keep the fans happy with their new stuff.i hope. it'll be crazy if they get big and shit, i'd be amused. that's all i need to know and all i have to say. you all take care! kirstin
