using ubuntu 12.04
Error given at the end of STDERR is :

Corpus is already cleaned by the initial steps of EMS. Please help me out in
solving this issue..

I want to add segmentation or other reordering etc information to the output
plz help out in that regards and also

Can Someone please tell me about the actual alignments and reordering of words
from Source to target. In simple words we know in SMT the probablities are
involved but I want to know the deeper side of these reorderings and alignments
like for example a source word abc translated to xyz how the alignment of this
word being done when it occurs in a sentence and how it will get in proper
order..
If someone elaborate all this with some kind of example

[Moses-support] moses.ini config weights

2014-01-14 Thread nadeem khan
Hi all;

I want to know some details about the Moses weights that are generated after
training step under moses.ini config file and also we use tuning step to
improve those weights.
Where how actually these weights are being used? and how decoder take those
weights while translating a input sentence? Can someone elaborate the use of
these weights with example.
What if we modified those weights manually without using tuning?

We are not same persons, I just saw this question and then your reply about

good tokenization for any source language can improve the BLEU score that is
why asked this question.

Re: [Moses-support] about Tuning in moses

I am not getting this definition Tuning refers to the process of finding the
optimal weights for this linear model, where optimal weights are those which
maximise translation performance on a small set of parallel sentences (the
tuning set).

As i asked before why do we need it as already doing training of the system,
where these optimal weights actually used while decoding? can you please
elobrate effect of it with some kind of example.
Why there are maximum 25 iterations in MERT? is there anykind of science behind
it? and all other questions remains same as in previous mail.

THANK YOU

Hi,

these are good questions that should be easy to answer if you understand the

[Moses-support] about testing on part of training dataset

2013-12-21 Thread nadeem khan
Hi

Can anyone please tell me about why we got low BLEU score on a testset we get
from training set for sparse resourced languages like Indian languages.
I tested a Hindi system on both, means original testset and a testset extracted
from Training data, just to get how things goes with testing the system some
segments from training.
But I got shocked when go through BLEU scores there is only 20-30% improvments
in BLEU from original to training set. I was expecting a 100% BLEU from testset
extracted from training data for experimenting.
Kindly anyone of you tell me with some example why we cannot get 100% BLEU on
testset from training ???

THANK YOU

It looks like something went wrong earlier in the EVALUATION section,
possibly in the input-from-sgm step. I would check all the steps in this

It is also not clear to me that the truecaser will work with Hindi as it
is designed for languages written in the latin script,
