Subject: RE: [onap-tsc] Call for self-nomination for ONAP PORTAL PTL role

Dear ONAP Team,

I would like to nominate myself for the ONAP Portal PTL role. I'm a passionate
Senior Software Engineer with 13 years of experience and Masters’ Degree in
Computer Science.
I’m an employee of AT&T since 2013 and have been a committer for Portal and
Portal/SDK Repositories since the inception and have been one of the main
architects for these applications
(with close to 300 commits across all ONAP projects).

Some of my recent/past contributions include:
1. Assisting the community around the world to integrate and onboard to Portal
and SDK platforms: Example SDC, SO Monitoring, ACUMOS etc.
2. Designing the SDK base platform to enable rapid application development for
teams to build applications: Examples: VID and Policy Engine’s GUI.
3. Managing releases and timelines with strong collaboration with the ONAP
Portal PTL Manoop Talasila.
4. Integration of Portal and SDK with AAF and thus allowing GUI applications
easily adapt the Authorization Framework.
5. Adding capability for Portal and SDK to scale horizontally seamless.
6. Modularizing SDK and building micro components like: Logging, Security,
Rapid UI Development libraries.

If given an opportunity to serve as PTL, I will strive hard to meet the
expectations of the community and TSC ensuring Portal & SDK remain strong
platforms
addressing all the needs encouraging wider adoption and contributions from the
community.

Thanks,
Sunder Tattavarada

2019-03-13 Thread Manoop Talasila
Hi Jim,

Below assigned weekly meeting zoom link for Portal is used by someone else I
believe. It says “The host has another meeting in progress”.

 1. As a PTL, can I please request for host access to below zoom link?
 2. We faced this issue many times in the past, is it possible to double
check the schedules and gap them correctly to avoid conflicts?

Please let me know, if I can do anything on this issue from myside. Thanks.

Re: [onap-discuss] [SDC] Portal access

2019-01-08 Thread Manoop Talasila
Hi DeWayne,

Please see, if the browser is asking to “click to Proceed to unsafe URL”. The
Portal URL is on “https”, in case the SDC url is still in “http”, then you may
need to “click to proceed to unsafe url” on browser’s prompt , so that the sdc
tab will load inside portal.

-below instructions in the release notes---
https://docs.onap.org/en/latest/submodules/portal.git/docs/release-notes.html#version-2-3-0
Upgrade Notes
· For https Apps onboarded to portal, a certificate has to be
downloaded in the browser when first trying to access the landing page of the
App.
· For onboarded Apps using http (since Portal is using https) the
browser asks the user to click to Proceed to the unsafe URL.

In a new tab after you authenticate with portal using cs0008 navigate to

and you should have your SDC portal

Dear ONAP Community,

With the new year, comes the time for new resolutions and changes.
The first one is easy to articulate as I wish you all and the ones around you
Happy New 2019 year.
For the second, it is with deep regrets and a broken heart to announce that I
will no longer have the privilege to be the ONAP Release Manager. This was
announced to the Community back in September 2018 and becomes effective today.
In the meantime, Catherine will be covering on Release Management and Release
Coordinator duties until further notice.
I will be attending the ONAP-OPNFV developers conference in Paris next week for
new endeavors with Huawei and transfer any information the community needs.
It has been an honor to help the community and working with you all.
I wish ONAP great success and a lot of deployments.

Thanks,

Below details I described are at the docker image build time (as the git clone

The Portal team is looking for support on the open defects with low or lowest
priorities as they are not getting enough attention due to their obvious low
priority status. If you are interested and would like to contribute to ONAP
community more than what you do now, then please feel free to reach out to me
or you can directly pick any Jira item from below link.

Here is the Jira filter for such open items list that are unassigned -
https://jira.onap.org/issues/?filter=11508. Team will look forward for your
support.

This could be an excellent opportunity to start with an easy task and learn the
design & architecture of the ONAP Portal, so that you can participate in much
more interesting new feature
development<https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Draft+requirements+for+next+release+-+road+map>

I am about to flood all of your mail boxes with meeting notices.

Sorry in advance for the noise this is going to generate. I can assure you that
this is the last thing I want to be doing right now. Based upon the TSC
meeting however, it seems like most people are still subscribed to, or have
invites from the original ONAP g-cal, even though it was decommissioned a while
ago. This is creating far too much confusion and disruption so there is an
urgent need to get everyone looking at the same data.

 * First, you may be receiving meeting cancelations from the original g-cal,
(ONAP Meetings and Events) This calendar will be deleted entirely.

 * Second, you may be receiving meeting cancelations from the newer g-cal
(ONAP Community Meetings & Events) This calendar will be deleted entirely.

 * Third, you will be new invites that will come from groups.io. The new
meeting invites will all be tagged with #cal-invite in the subject line. Those
are the only ones that count going forward.

If you are ever unsure Community Meetings &
Calendar
on the wiki is being kept up to date and synced with groups.io whenever I make
a change due to a ticket. NOTE: the wiki defaults to UTC. Make sure that you
are logged into the wiki and that you have set your time
zone
to see calendar days/times reflected correctly for you.

There is no clean way to get rid of ghost meetings. Bottom line: If you receive
a cancellation and it is still on your calendar, remove it.

Again, I apologize for the onslaught of notices coming your way. Detailed
information on how to get the most from the groups.io calendar is still to come.

portal-db had issues where it was taking so long to initialize that it aborted
halfway, leaving the DB files in a corrupted state. The quickest workaround is
to delete the mysql directory under /dockerdata-nfs/dev-portal/ and then
deleting the portal-db pod to allow it to redo the DB initialization.

The same issue can potentially occur for any of ONAP’s mysql databases.

Hi

I have installed newest OOM staging release for Casablanca and portal app is
not working after several undeployments and deployments of whole dev-portal
releas.

I think that thi issue is cause by dev-portal-portal-db-config pod that doesn't
finish successfully,

After couple of retries, when it is able to connect to dev-portal-portal-db,
executed script doesn't introduce any changes and all inserts finish with error
similar to :
ERROR 1046 (3D000) at line 363: No database selected

As I checked in portal-db pod following databases are available:
MariaDB [(none)]> show databases;
++
Database
++
information_schema
mysql
performance_schema
test
++
4 rows in set (0.006 sec)

MariaDB [(none)]>

Maybe there is some issue with portal-db initialization ?
Has anybody observed similar issue? Maybe somebody has some WA for that.

br,
Krzysztof

Team,
Hi, I have a request on behalf of my team and likely others.
The CLM security pages are locked down too tightly – I would like other
members of the team – in particular Prudence Au (my co-PTL along with Luke
Parker) to be able to view and edit pages in the wiki space

https://wiki.onap.org/display/SV/Security+Vulnerabilities+Home
https://wiki.onap.org/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=43385152

The issue that we did not forsee – distribution of CLM work among the team.
Also when a PTL is out for a 1 day vacation – the delegate PTL does not have
access to the site.

If the SV space is locked down – then the bottleneck is the PTL – in my case
Prudence is a go-getter and would like to fix the remaining vulnerabilities –
in our case we inherited several from another project we have a dependency –
they already marked that vulnerability as a red-herring and have a pom override
– but without myself acting as the wiki conduit – this work is slowed down with
some re-inventing the wheel occurring.

Can we make the site read/only at least for any of the following

 * Committers of a project
 * Ideally any committer of a project can see the pages of the other project
– so one fix can be distributed among several

Thank you

/michael

Re: [onap-discuss] [portal] ONAP GUI Styling Guidance

2018-09-17 Thread Manoop Talasila
Hi Guangrong,

Below is the documentation on portal UI styling and provides the references to
create your first application page with appropriate CSS.

 * https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Portal%27s+SDK+UI+documentation
 *
https://docs.onap.org/en/beijing/submodules/portal.git/docs/tutorials/portal-sdk/your-angularjs-app.html

Regarding “CSS files under
ecomp-portal-FE-common
and
ecomp-portal-FE-os”,
they are structured in sucha way that, css files in “*-common” are general
purpose which can be used commonly by any applications (app), but the css files
in “*-os” are specific to your app. If your GUI is based on the portal-sdk
(which is recommended), then you need both “*-common” and “*-os”; If not based
on portal-sdk, then you can pick appropriate css elements from these projects
to make your GUI output align closely with the other ONAP apps.

In case of any specific questions, please reach out to Portal experts on these
topics (CCed Sunder and Saravanan). Thanks.

Hi Manoop,

The Holmes team is developing its GUI to make itself more user-friendly.
Because our ultimate goal is to integrate it with CLAMP (or Policy), we want to
make the appearance of the GUI well aligned with other components in ONAP.

I've looked through the Portal repo and found some CSS files under

But I don't know which of them could be used as our basic styling guidelines.

Is there a wiki page telling us how to style our pages? Or are there any
existing CSS files for us to follow?

Thanks,
Guangrong

Thanks Gary for the details.
Portal’s image versions look good for now. We will update this file, as we

Subject: [onap-discuss] NEW: Staging Docker Manifest

SUMMARY: Please update the new docker-manifest-staging.csv to reflect your new
docker image versions from master branch.

As Gildas mentioned this morning, going forward we will be running two sets of
deployment tests daily: one for release images, one for staging images.

A new docker-manifest-staging.csv is added:
https://git.onap.org/integration/tree/version-manifest/src/main/resources/docker-manifest-staging.csv.
The daily Staging deployments will use the versions listed here. Please
update the staging manifest with the image versions that your master branch is
producing now, so that they will be used in the daily Staging deployment.

The original docker-manifest.csv will accept only release images going forward.
This manifest will be used for the daily Release deployments.

NOTE: these manifests are considered the “source of truth” and will override
the image versions checked-in to OOM helm charts and the HEAT template, so
please keep them up to date.

Thanks,
Gary

Hello everyone,

This topic was discussed on today’s PTL call. I am resending email so you
don’t have to dig for it.
Please provide your feedback if you’re in agreement or if you have any
questions.
The goal is to align on a single workflow in ONAP.

Also, another topic raised during PTL call, but not part of the attached
proposal, but I wanted to note it here:

• We should align on the set of Jira issue types that will be used
across the projects to ensure issues don’t fall through the cracks.

• Today, most projects use: Epics, Stories (& sub-tasks available
within story), Tasks, Bugs

• There are some projects that also use New Feature

• What is the set we want to support for ONAP projects?

Thanks, Randa

Greetings PTLs,

One of the items in the Beijing Retrospective was confusion over the two
separate Jira workflows in play today.
I would like to submit the following for consideration to align on ONE Jira
workflow. This is low hanging fruit and an easy enough change to implement to
progress on addressing one of the concerns raised during Lesson’s Learned
discussions.

I believe the attached workflow is flexible enough to handle the uniqueness of
ONAP as well as not introduce overhead for teams.

Please review attached slides and provide your +1 if you agree to the proposal.

Thanks,
Randa

[onap-discuss] Moving Portal CSIT screen capture functional tests into "testsuite" repo

2018-07-25 Thread Manoop Talasila
Hi,

The Portal team is moving Portal CSIT screen capture functional tests into
"testsuite" repo. After a brief discussion with integration team, we all agreed
to add all existing Portal’s CSIT screen capture functional test cases (36
tests) under testsuite
repo to execute them with
external lab Jenkins jobs where entire ONAP components are deployed and
verified (https://jenkins.onap.org/view/External%20Labs/).

The main reason to move these tests is due to the maintenance issues that we
have faced in past two releases to bringing up the entire dependencies and
mocking the services in such Jenkins runtime environment to successfully
execute all the Portal functional tests.

Thanks Gary, Sireesh and Sunder for your time in supporting this activity.

Manoop

Hi HeRui,

These are already being tracked under below Jira items:
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-347
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-1117

FYI…Status on these changes: for AAI, Arul already made the change and is
merged into master branch (in oom repo). For portal/sdk, Hima is making
changes, tested it and is about to submit the commit into oom repo.

Hi Gray,

I found the portal for AAI and VNF-SDK unable to access after ONAP deployment
with Beijing release using OOM.
After troubleshooting, I found the port value for these two UI services missing
in the values.yaml file of portal project, and also found there are not public
port like 30xxx open for these two services.
Is that a OOM’s bug or I missing some configuration?
BTW, the code branch I’m working on is “2.0.0-ONAP”.

Hi Manoop,

The steps are captured in Arul's patch:
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/55139<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__gerrit.onap.org_r_-23_c_55139&d=DwMGaQ&c=LFYZ-o9_HUMeMTSQicvjIg&r=WrNqy1qTY6qs8trIiLe-U2OvGp0SXnE4nO3a-LJ-q_w&m=CtMnrM-vIDrOYhBaaNCveDRjm0M3tDAYqD5WJ8IWcA8&s=5YNCjzk3TrKQQHY3AQIllw_KPSo7Q4biBGtFpxpVsOE&e=>

You need to assign a free node port to the portal-sdk chart's service. this
can be done in its values.yaml file. The challenge here is with how things are
working today, it is challenging to find a free port.
I found one for you: 30234 is currently not being used by any charts.

Once that is done, you take that node port and default it in the portal-mariadb
values.yaml. This will then be used to update the mariadb's application URL
with the node port. Now it will be able to redirect to your app.

You should deploy the portal chart and test whether you can launch the new app
as well.

Mandeep
