It's only a guess. But my guess is that there may be something wrong on the station's end..beings as how you're getting the same results on another computer; if the station has a "contact link" (and it probably does) I would suggest that you might want to get in toouch with either the web master..or maybe a station engineer; it may be that they're having a problem streamming..and are unaware of it. Help with OTSDJ and WMP10
Dear List! About Windows Media Player 9/10 Series: Recently I installed Windows Media Player 10 on my system. Every station or streamer who use this program to play their streams seem to work; however, one particular station (www.daytonjazz.com) will not play for some reason. I cannot understand why it is not playing. I click on the link, go to the "listen live" link and press enter, but I only get a clicking sound and no music. Now, on the otherhand, I can move down the page a few links, click on an interview with a certain artist this station made and plays in WMP10, and the stream or link plays. The live link is the only one that does not play. What could possibly be the trouble. I had the same problem with WMP9 series. I get the same problem on my work system (Windows 2000) and both profiles on my system (Windows XP Professional/Service Pack 2). It's iritating and, if someone can answer, this question, please do. OTSDJ: Well, I reinstalled OTSDJ recently and made the necessary updates and clicked on the program (OTSDJ), but there is a static sound that I cannot get rid of. Previously, I went to the Graphics Equalizer window and changed the slider and I got a clean unstatic sound, but now I cannot get rid of it. I think the gtrouble is in the Tools Menu (Graphics Equalizer and Dynamics Processor), but nothing works. If anyone knows which area to do this in, do let me know. The sound is like a scratched record. I know you can get rid of it because I did before, but something has changed and I can't figure it out now. I hope to hear from someone soon on this matter. HI Wan, I guess the only thing you could do is to pause the music at the very end of the song, then about a split second before the next song start recording. Its called tightening up cd's. I can only answer your question about whether you have to use the IRiver software or just the drivers. If you're using Windows XP you can just use the driver installed when you connect the IRiver to the USB port. Hi Mimi. The jitter correction checkbox can be found on the read options tab of the copy CD dialogue. Simply check it to use jitter correction. The burn will take longer but will be the best quality possible. Regards. It says that the special installer supports wma, however, even when it's set to be associated with everything, it will not play wma. Winamp always comes up. It seems to me that making the DVR accessible wouldn't be too difficult, if there was a great enough demand. Before I became blind, I used the Tivo frequently and it's wonderfully functional. Hi, I had to use Ahead's miserable tech support andI have a number for you to call and ask. 818 956 5930. Extension 303 is some kind of supervisor of tech support. If you need a option higher up on the food chain, write me off list. The tech support people appeared to have zero interest or experience with disabled at all. I am pretty sure of the phone number and Ahead Software is in the phone book in Glendale California. I havethe extension for Director of Marketing at Ahead and I hpe people can ifthey needthat number or otherwise help Ahead with issues of usability if pertinent. Chris, Yes, I do have Rob's help files, and they got me up and running with the program. Remember what I said about losing my little grey cells? well, after posting to the list last night i had another play with it and tried the ACM encoder just for giggles, and of course it worked fine. i won't try to figure out why the other one doesn't work, but at least I'm not the only one with the problem. I still haven't gotten the recording function to work ... I tried to record a stream through my sound card and just got a blank file, but I'm not as concerned about that since simple MP3 Maker works fine for me. By the way, for anyone else like myself who has had problems with Total recorder due to driver conflicts or whatever else,Simple MP3 Maker will record to wav and encode to MP3 as well as ripping from CD's. You can't edit with it and I don't think there is any way to append to a recording, but as a no frills package it is free and works without adding another driver, just my experience. Hi, I hope you're using the very latest version if not it will not work very well. The most importent klue I can give is that you'll have to use the spacebar rather then the enterkey. Just go ahead and press space on the choose a category then with the arrows find the one you wanna use. Hi Brian. While we're on the subject of cliches, you'll probably know the cliche that "there's more than one way to skin a cat". There's also room for personal preference. I prefer to have Nero open with the new dialogue because I've got everything there as soon as the program starts, new ISO, audio, CD copy, DVD copy, etc, all in a single dialogue without searching through any menus. Yes, you're quite right that with the latest version of Nero you can hit alt + R to open the recorder menu and then arrow down to CD Copy. However, these notes go someway to explaining what each of the 4 tabs are made up of in the copy process and that's why there a little lengthy. For example, in versions of Nero 5.5 and earlier, the jitter correction is not checked by default and this is something I like to use to make sure I get the highest quality copy. Also, did you know that ignore read errors is checked by default? Great for creating those coasters. Apologies if there's too much information for you here but just hit that delete key next time when you start getting bored.
