2006-12-27 Thread Doc
this is her response to me concerning trying to get to the rockbox page

Hi. I'm so conflicted. On the site itself, it will say it works with the
second generation anos, then somewhere, there's a warning that says if your
Ipod has a metal body it won't work, plus if you click on the latest version
for it, the page comes up as 404 not found. So if I'm doing something wrong
please let me know.

Hi,
You can check out Rockbox and see if it'll run with your IPod. I have
Rockbox on my player, not an IPod, and it works great. Since it's a
standard system for all the supported players, yours will too.

I know that soundcards can be told to play 5.1 sound, or however you might
set them. I don't know the answer to your other question though. Hope this

What are the differences between the Slingbox devices?

2006-12-27 Thread Kevin Minor
Hi.

I received the Slingbox device for Christmas which allows you to watch your
television channels over the internet. I know there are three versions of
the Slingbox, but I don't know the differences between them. I know I
didn't get the Pro version, but I'd like to know the differences between it
and the other two. You can give me a web site to look this information up.
I tried going to http://slingbox.com and got a very cryptic page with
graphical links.

Thanks for the help.

Also, can 5.1 be transferred through standard RCA cable, the ones that

That's absolutely right and please! don't bother wasting your time
trying to install the version of Rockbox for the Nano because you'll
crash your second gen Nano and you'll have to use Itunes to update

Hi Joe,

If you press select while a track is playing, you go into the file
browser. From there, if you press and hold select, you are brought into
a file menu. The option that says "bookmark" is the one that will insert
a bookmark in the track.

This can be found in the manual.

Hi,
Check the lists of phones on both manufacturer's sites. They both have
complete lists of phones on there, I'm sure one from Sony was on both,
or one, but I don't remember the model.
If you google both Talks and Mobile Speak separately you'll find the
sites where you can get the list of supported phones.

Re: Looking for a Plextalk recording sample

2006-12-27 Thread Michael Lang
Arnaud,

You can overwrite mistakes easily with the Plextalks. However, the
mistake isn't physically deleted. The correction is done via the DAISY
index file. If you'd like to restructure the audio files, so that all
mistakes are removed from them, you have to use the supplied Plextalk
Recording Software on a PC.

go to the Rockbox site, and read up on it.
I think that you will find that it will work with Ipod Nano Second edition.

Treo 650 (A Palm Phone using Palm-OS)

2006-12-27 Thread JardataMailServicesBox
Hello List!

I checked with Cingular Wireless about the Treo 650 and they said they have no
info on speech software because it is a Palm thing and Palm won't give them any
info on it. I called Palm and they said they had no info either. I then
checked with the CodeFactory.es company via the net and they say they support
smart phones (palm versions). The Treo 650 doesn't use the Windows Mobile
Pocket OS yet I guess. Does anyone know of a seller of the CodeFactory cell
phone screen reader programs? I also heard of a program called Talks and Speak
(or something to the fact). Would some of the Nokia phone software work on the
Treo650?

I'm checking before I have to return the phone and get another one. Any
recommendations of a better and similar phone, with accessible software
available, would be appreciated.

Using dvd audio extractor?

2006-12-27 Thread carliss Smith
Listers,

I want to say, thanks to all for helping me to get the dvd audio extractor
program. I really mean that.

However, will some one please tell me where is the audio playlist that was
created located?

I ran the program at least I think I did it right?

Well, please tell me where are the files put on the hard drive?

Also, am I to press the restart button when the program stops?

I tried to run the help files, but jaws wouldn't read it.

Okay, I'm hear listening and hoping for help

Thanks to all,
