Hey Brian! Are you using rockbox? If you are, then you just put your music in a new folder you create with Windows explorer. Of course, you then have to boot to rockbox. If you boot to the I Pod firmware, then you won't see this folder and would have to use I Tune to read your music files. Hey Brandon! I guess DVD audio extractor is allright. OGG is fine in most case and if I want to get fancy, I can always rip to uncompressed waves but the file is huge of course! I do find that the ripping is rather slow. On my dual core processor with 2 gig of RAM, it takes about 1 hour to rip a movie DVD. I'll look into ripping the audio with DVD Decryptor. Hi Richard. Thanks for letting me in to Binary Boy. It's much more accessible than the UseNext client which I have been using for the last year. One thing though with Binary Boy, I can't seem to be able to do a search on all news group like the UseNext client allows me to do! It looks that I can only ssearch one group at a time? Hello arnaud! Just installed the new dayly build for my I River IHP 120 and the english fast voice! Works like a charm! I see that they have removed the 48 KHz recording option! Guess it was no use having it there sincce rockbox will only record at 44.1 KHz. Is there any plan to have the input gains settings in the recording screen speek? It would be s nice!Unless there is another way to do this that I am not aware? Also, do you know of a way to remove the apparent limiter on the input signals? Unfortunately, if you've had the Ilo off for awhile, it's been my experience that it does take you back to the beginning of the tracks, whether they be books, songs, whatever, and that can be a pain if you're listening to a long book. I think you have to buy higher-end devices to be able to get that wonderful feature, like the Bookport has, of stopping your book where you left it. I'm sending along a couple of things that might be helpful to you all, and I'll be glad to help if I can also. Below is the information from Overdrive, a service similar to Net Library. I'm just gpoing to paste in their Accessibility Guide. You can also go to blindcooltech.com and get a couple of little tutorials on how to sync your device with Windows Media Player and how to download books from Net Library, both done by our good pal Larry Skutchan. Hi Kathy! Just a few questions on the ILO player! If you transfer only 1net library book at a time in the player, do you have any difficulties in getting the player to play? I guess, what I really mean is that if you only have the one file in the player, will the book start playing when pushing the play button? And, if you turn the player off, will the book resume when you next turn the power on? Any difficulties in syncronizing with windows media player 10? Hi Brandon. I don't know about the smaller files but I always download what they call cd quality and the bit rate is 32 kb. The book i am reading now is Battle ready by Tom Clancy and the file is 250 meg! The quality is excellent. This time though, I need a player that will play audio books that are WMA protected files fron Net library. I am looking for a 1 gig unit which does not require special pc software. Windows media player 10
Hello everyone. I have just installed windows media player 10 and every time I play a music file, the program always connect to Napster. This is inconvenient since Jaws start talking on top of the music. Version 9 did not do that. Does anyone know how to remove this feature. I looked all over the menu items but I am unable to uncheck the napster thing in the view menu. Any help is appreciated. Hi Joe. I have re read your post and I am not too sure what you mean by silent scrub! The page up and down feature is more like a jump feature. The lenght of the jump is determined by the zoom ratio. If I understand you correctly, what you need to do is use the left and right arrows . Providing you are in play from curser orplay selection mode which you access with the control+shift+numpad 5, you should be able to hear your scrubs while holding down the left arrow to rewind, and the right arrow to forward. I hope this is clear as it is very early here, and I'm not sure my brain is in full gear yet! Please let me know if this works.
