I have found another site called music mp3. I find it to be very accessible. I can use paypal to make my purchases and you get a ten percent bonus when you pre-pay. On registering I was given a 20 cents bonus to try it out. After that I had some trouble as I couldn't buy credit with my credit card. They state they do accept credit card payments but when you select that option you are told that that option is not available at this time and to try again in a day or two. What you have to do is register with a site called CMPASS and there buy E money. You are given an ID number and a PIN number. You then go back to MP3 Sparks and put in both these numbers before you can establish a balance or refill it. I Have not done this as I am not sure of the company where I buy this e money and as I haven't done anything like that before, I wasn't taking any chances. Also, it is a lot of hassle and I just couldn't be bothered with it. I know Mandy and Trace have used this site and they could most likely let you know what it is like. On all of mp3, I used to be able to preview a full album. On mp3sparks, the player window appears, and just sits there, trying to transfer data. Has anyone gotten the preview to work on mp3sparks? I have a couple questions about Mp3sparks. 1. Can a blind person use it independently, or is there a CAPTTCHA? 2. While I certainly like the prices, does anybody know if any of the money reaches any artist? If not, it's no different than using illegal file sharing services, except that somebody is profiting from the illegal file sharing. why is mp3sparks so slow?
Hi I downloaded one track yesterday and noticed how slow it was, I'd dumped a whole load of stuff in to my basket and so thought that it'd be nice and quick early this morning so I was on here by eight thirty and its taken me an age to download about fifteen tracks, every single track has downloaded at an average speed of 16 [sixteen] kbs, it was rediculous. On the old allofmp3 site, it was slow sometimes but usually around 60 [sixty] kbs or higher, why is it so slow now and is there any danger of it quickening up? That's what i want to know. BTW, how slow is that site? it took me over five minutes to download one track this morning, the transfer rate was averaging 16kbs, it was so slow it was painful, I gave up and will try again later or in the morning. I couldn't get on there this afternoon but have just spent the last half hour piling stuff in to my basket on there like you wouldn't believe, I logged on with my old allofmp3 account and my nearly twenty six dollars is there, waiting to be spent. I'd mail them if i were you, they do seem to reply to stuff and you should get it sorted out that way. BTW, i did understand it right didn't I? we can use our cards again on there now? Jonathan, could you send me an email off where I can contact you? Thanks. I find all of this very very interesting. No matter what they try to do to stop all this stuff, they can't. The record industry as we know it is dead. First there was Napster and when they shut them down and changed them, along came limewire. The Russians will never give up because there is way too much money at stake. What is $30 to us seems to be $100 for them. I hope they continue and I am confident they will. Yes, that is now true, but it always hasn't been. Of course allofmp3 was shut down, it's now mp3sparks.com. It's my understanding that these sites could keep oppening and closing as the Russians try to keep them open because of the money. You'll just have to take your chances. For those interested, mp3sparks.com looks, acts, and feels like allofmp3.com and the alltunes application looks, feels, and acts very similar to the allofmp3 xplorer. I found alltunes pretty inaccessible. You have to use their client. No, you may have missed my earlier posts. Allofmp3 and MP3Sparks a site by allofmp3 were shut down by the Russian government at the behest of the US government and the record industry RIAA. The World Trade Commission told Russia that they might become a member if they shut down allofmp3 so they are gone. I think if you have Alltunes on your computer, you can spend your remaining balance, but that's it. Allofmp3 and mp3sparks which was nothing but allofmp3 under a different name are gone.
