[pinhole-discussion] Re: Type 55 Polaroid materials, et al..

2001-10-06 Thread DAlfrey
Hello everyone,

I am just starting to get my feet wet in using pinhole cameras and
Polaroid Type 55 P/N films... I have in my possession a 16oz (1 lb) jar of
sodium sulfite, which if I understand correctly is needed to be able to
clear the negatives, I know or think I know it requires a 10% solution of
sodium sulfite to work . Does anyone have any links , suggestions,
directions/instructions , what have you, about mixing up this 16oz jar, and
how to go about getting the 10% solution, developing/fixing/hypo clearing
/washing procedures, storage and keeping properties, etc... my end result
will to print the negatives .

Thanks In Advance .

2001-10-06 Thread Jean Daubas
Hello Rob !

Thanks again for your efforts and for the fast change in New year 2002

Leaving email addresses is a good idea but I think it may be too late.
Yes, I understand very well your answer about this question. I
presume the readers of this post will probably add naturally their e-mail
address besides the snail mail if they wish to register on the New Year
mailing.
As you write, missing the e-mail address is not a great problem. So do not
worry about it !

Now, organization seem to be OK for this New Year 2002 postcard exchange !
So let's go out and make some nice pinhole pictures !!!

Jean

Sorry Jean, I wasn't keeping up with the discussion board. I just updated
it to get rid of the holiday and it just says new year 2002 now. The
URL is the same - I hope that's okay. :)

I'll stick with the discussion forum thing for anything else related to
this
swap. Let me know (in that forum) if there's anything else to change.

Leaving email addresses is a good idea but I think it may be too late. I
probably should've added that in the beginning. There are several ways
for
us to get everyone's email address afterward if we wanted to, but for now
we
either have to stick with snail mail addresses or figure out some way to
have people go back and add their address to. There's no way to do that
right now and I think we'd end up with half of the email addresses missing
in the end anyway. It might also be too much of a hassle for people
who've
already signed up. If any new people want to add their email address in
the
address field they can do that - I think a couple people actually thought
ahead and did that. In any case, we can discuss this on the forum if it's
something we need to figure out. Let me know.

 Thanks!!
 Rob

  Pinhole Printswap

  Hi Rob !

Great work done on your page ! Lots of thanks for maintaining it and the
random tool is a pleasant game !

  1)
  a) I do not know whether you have followed the discussion which runs on
the
Christmas Card Swap Forum opened by Guy on Pinhole Visions site at
  http://www.???/forum/read.php?f=4i=1t=1

Among other issues, several participants in the Forum suggested that the
holidays action could rather be called
New Year 2002 Pinhole Cards mailing

  b) I wonder if it would not be useful when registering on your Mailing
list
to add the individual e-mail besides snail mail address : when the
exchange
will be started, I presume some of us will be glad to have direct
connections by e-mail with other participants.
Rob, I'm not a Web tech man ;-) - Maybe you can tell us if adding the
e-mail address field makes a lot of work or if it can be easily done ?
Do
you think it could be an improvement ?

  2) Spring 2002 Pinhole Printswap
For those who should be interested in participating in an organized
printswap for the beginning of 2002, I remind you that you may
register by
sending me an e-mail at my following address :
  jean.dau...@freesbee.fr
  with subject : S2PP
I have already received some participations and we can take our time
to
complete the list and examine together how to constitute several groups
if
  necessary!

Rob, thanks again for your efficient help

  Pinholer's cheers from France !
  Jean

  Hi,
I changed the page a bit so you can get a random list of addresses
based
  on
how many cards you want to send out. :) You can still see the
complete
  list though. It's still at
http://www.rahji.com/noindex/pinholexmas.php3

Re: [pinhole-discussion] pinhole holiday card list

2001-10-06 Thread Guy Glorieux
Rob,

I love the random list generator.

I can think of a few other applications for this type of instrument:
- Who gets their bill paid this month?
- Which images do I put in the portfolio I'm sending out for review next week?
- Who gets a passing grade (teachers only)?
- Which class do I attend next week (students only)?
- What should I pick at the grocery store this week?
- What film/developer/processing time do I use for my next pinhole shoot (I
guess you need 3 random generators for this one...)?
- What reciprocity factor do I use for my next night pinhole shooting (on this
one, you'll need to work with Guillermo to get the precise mathematics for the
random generator... -:)) )?

Perhaps others have suggestions?

Cheers, ...-:))

Guy
