Hi everybody. This morning the radio failed to play the channel set for the alarm and played the fallback alarm instead. After this, it asked me to update to the new firmware version 7.5! This sounds quite strange. After the update it isnt able anymore to connect to mySB! Tryed to reset to factory settings with no success, as I rember it came with version 7.4.3 and now, after the reset the fw version is still 7.5. Then I had to go to work, so I unplugged it! Damn! Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] How good is the radio as an alarm clock
I use the Radio as my primary alarm clock, even if I have a backup that is my 11 months old son. My configuration is without a local server, my SB3 and Radio are always wirelessly connected to internet. I cant remember it failed to ring, but very often it fails to have a reliable connection with mysqueezebox.com , due to the server, not to my configuration (I checked that many times). So it frequently happens that the Radio plays the song on its internal memory, that is at a volume definitely too high, making me jumpm out of bed (I not already due to my son). So I classify its reliability to a fifty fifty. mmhh I tryed but with medium success As I put an icon in the schema , it stops working. And from the alarm object I cant get the time. A simple configuration with time, album title, song title and artist works. Ah, most important: never saw the album art. About icons I have one question: to develop faster I put always the same icon for all states (for example in wi fi strenght). May this cause the screen saver not to work? When I say that the configuration doesn't work I meaan that the radio stops starting screen saver, or that the screen saver cannot be loaded. Anyway, apart these little flaws, you did a great job. well, for sure it would be nice to be able to put the cover wherever I want, adjustable in size, obviously. Then, the more infos available (alarm, wifi strength, battery, shuffle on/off, repeat on/off, song number, number of songs, ...), the better. The rotating thing is also interesting, better if with a definable center of rotation and radius. Another easy: more than one line for album, artist, song title. Better if 3. If you can, of a given length and scrollable if text is longer. I think it's enough! :) Mainly think to the example I posted after the LSD one. -- Rikk Rikk's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=25652 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74787 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
