Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
When I came back home the screen doesn't show the screen saver when off I have chossen. I set my SBRadio on then off : rhe screen saver was the good one. I will not phone to Logitech support :! Why ? I am not sure there is one here in France I don't want to listen to someone teeling me : " there is no bug or mySB.com" it's your router... of course... My SBBoom is working perfectly why ? I can't share an account with someone else as my Boom is OK... NOTICE : If I can contact someone who really knows the Squeezebox, can really understand my problem, the logs,... I will be happy to help but I don't want to deal with incompetent pepople who will make me loosing my time ! I begin to be fed up with this SBRadio. Of course no information from Logitech ! Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
If it happens that often, that your stream just stops, maybe you should call official support. I read of some MySB.com accounts, where two people unintentionally shared one account (do you have any devices listed on MySB.com, that are not your own ?). Anyway - everything you describe sounds really strange and definitely is not normal operation. If not even normal playing of radio streams works, I would start looking for alarm problems. -- bluegaspode 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 1xSB-Radio Server (7.4.1) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
I think the problem is that playing radio stream can stop from time to time (main problem) then when it arrives during alarm I get, of course, the back up alarm. So, why radio stream stop to play ?? mySB.com problems ? It is possible as we know that problems have occured before. The SBRadio uses a different protocol to communicate with mySB.com. We can see posts about this problem in this forum. This evening, the screen during listening was not the one I have defined (lecture en cours = now playing???) it was the grey screen with time and date... Thank you for your answer... There is a strange thing : my SBRadio is connected to mySB.com and not connected to my ReadyNAS ! So, I wonder why ma SBRadio tries to connect my NAS... When my SBRadio started to play the alarm (radio stream) this monrning, it was connected to mySB.com. My ReadyNAS was off since yesterday. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
Thank you, I have reset factory my SBRadio and not connect it to my NAS. My NAS is off. But when playing radio my SBRadio stops playing music again… I think the problem is that my SBRadio « stop » playing radio stream : If it occurs during the alarm I have the back up alarm If it occurs when not playing alarm then the sound stops, on the screen I can only see the name of the radio. The wifi icon stays white. If I listen to the same radio at the same time with my SBBoom or another brand of wifi radio : theses sets don’t stop playing the radio stream. I have noticed it is from the 7.5 version. The SBRadio stops “from time to time”, I didn’t notice something special Is it a bug ? Or is it a mySB.com problem as SBRadio and SBBoom are managed differently. -- sSNICKERSs sSNICKERSs's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=20135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77807 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

I don't understand what your expected behaviour is ? Do you want the Radio to always connect to your ReadyNas (which server version is installed there) ? Or MySqueezebox.com ? The log states, that the Radio received an event to turn the power off. Why this is sent - I don't have any idea. I'm out of ideas. Did you try a factory reset on your Radio already? Thank you, I have found : Here is the solution for this problem. ssh to the system and run the following commands and reset the system: # mkdir /media/mylogs # mkdir /media/mylogs/log This will capture the log files on the flash and under the /media/mylogs/log directory. The maximum size of the files before the logs get rotated is 60MB. Whenever you like to switch back to the previous state run the following command: #rm -Rf /media/mylogs notice that this causes all the captured logs to be lost. I would imagine that we can have an option in the UI to facilitate this process, but I am not sure if it has a lot of value. - Activate remote access on your Radio in the advanced setting. - Follow http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Connecting_to_the_SBC_with_WINSCP - fetch the file /var/log/messages. - look that the log still contains message from the alarm time (and before you post it, please also tell us the alarm time) -- bluegaspode 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 1xSB-Radio Server (7.4.1) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
I agree to give the log If you explain me how to do that, there is NO problem at all. The best thing for me is to extract the log in the eveneing as the morning i have no time, so it means that SBR keep logs for more than 12 hours... So If someone can explain me I will be glad to help as I have so different problem with alarm (don't play at all [no back up alarm], begin with radio and finish wuth back up alarm,) Thank you for your help. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
thanks for analyzing the log! you are right! I'm not downloading the podcast directly to the SBR (so far I haven't found a method how to use a podcast as an alarm) so here is my workaround: a script on a web-server at home downloads the podcast and renames it so that I can use a static link for the SBR this link is then configured as a favourite via mySB.com and the alarm should play this favourite and I have to say that this set-up already worked fine before the update do you know how long the SBR waits to download an mp3-file until it automatically switches to the fallback-alarm? best regards simsboard -- simsboard so far only 1x Squeezebox Radio with selfmade batterykit mainly used with mysb.com http://www.lastfm.de/user/weanabazi simsboard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77807 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
you already found the cause. The radio thinks the stream is not playing - maybe because it didn't start fast enough - or the connection to the podcast at this time didn't give a good stream ? If I try the stream http://static.orf.at/podcast/oe1/mp3/OE1_journale_fj6.MP3 I get a 404 in my browser (is this the real URL - at least the radio wanted to get a file name 'OE1_journale_fj6.MP3' ?) If I look at the XML-File from your link there is a file http://static.orf.at/podcast/oe1/mp3/OE1_journale_100426_fj6.MP3 Thats a different filename than the radio wanted to get ?! How did you configure this podcast ? With the XML-file (never tried podcasts myself with the radio) ? I'd always start the alarm with simple things first, like normal internet-radio or mp3s from a local connection. There is also a connection timeout at 20:02:15 in your log. Maybe this is related ? Maybe the mp3-stream really wasn't just there at this server and the Radio had no other chance than to play the fallback ? -- bluegaspode 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 1xSB-Radio Server (7.4.1) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
unfortunatly I have to agree that there seems to be something quite buggy at the moment - the SBR was already working fine but also since the last update its horrible! :-( attached you can find a logfile of my last alarm which fired at 20:00:00 I just see that the SBR changes to the fallback-alarm with the reason mentioned in line 50: "audio not in good shape while alarm is firing" for completeness => the mp3-file which should be played belongs to a pocast provided by an austrian radio-station the podcast can be found at http://static.orf.at/podcast/oe1/oe1_journale.xml any help would be appreciated best regards! simsboard +---+ |Filename: messages.log | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9753| +---+ -- simsboard so far only 1x Squeezebox Radio with selfmade batterykit mainly used with mysb.com http://www.lastfm.de/user/weanabazi simsboard's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33135 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77807 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio

Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
As I said, it sould be very strange that this behaviour just begin with new firmware, no ? Just fefore, it worked well except the "ghost alarms". And why is it ok on my Boom ? This morning my radio was playing "nothing". It was on, on the display I can see the name of the radio stream but no sound, no back up alarm. I just select this radio from the preset : it is ok ! So if I had a problem with my connection I sould have backup alarm. Please, stop saying we are just not able to detect bug. We have a brain, whe have knowlegde too ? And I say that this Radio has many bugs, and in the alarm function too. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
sSNICKERSs;539357 Wrote: > I checked my internet connection and there is no problem at this time > (why should I have problem only when alarm is playing ). This is no proof at all. When you normally play a stream it is buffered, so you won't realize short dropouts. Just play your Radio, kill the internet and see how long it still plays ... The alarm is very strict with connection dropout (as it doesn't know when the connection will come back nor if it can still trust the server who typically sends the next alarm time after reconnection killing the previous - which you DON'T want inbetween an alarm when you didn't wake up yet). So please provide logs from your Radio. As you posted in quite every thread about alarms I'm sure you read the instructions already how to do so. -- bluegaspode 1x SB-Controller+Receiver (Duet), 1xSB-Boom. 1xSB-Radio Server (7.4.1) running on SheevaPlug (Ubuntu) with attached Western Digital MyBook Essential. Re: [SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
I frequently have my alarm set to internet radio and let it play until it turns itself off. I have never experience a back up alarm after turn off. The only time I have heard the back up alarm is at the beginning instead of the radio station. I am running FW 7.5, but this never happened to me under previous versions either. -- mpower9 mpower9's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=33930 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=77807 ___ Radio mailing list Radio@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
[SlimDevices: Radio] NEW roblem with alarm
I have no more ghost alarm but I have this NEW problem : During SBRadio is playing alarm or when the alarm ends (because it is the end of the alarm) the backup alarms begin. I have this every morning. I check my internet connection and there is no problem at this time (why should I have problem only when alarm is playing ). It seems this problem appears after the last problems with mysb.com. This problem has never occurred before.
