Actually there was one there on the taroon-beta CD I used to prepopulate the tree and I just left it, not understanding at the time why it was there. Seems it uses that one in preference to the comps-* package in the RPMS directory. So copy in the one you built to /RedHat/base/comps.rpm. Thanks for that... Now I get to: * moving (1) to step preinstallconfig * moving (1) to step installpackages at this point the install exited abnormally... I've no idea how to proceed from here (apart from starting with a fresh build tree and doing it all again). any suggestions? Re: Anaconda errors
Try the function keys F1-F5 during an install, I think either F3 or Shift-F3 will bring up log-like output. When I attempt to install the rebuild, anaconda dies as the packages start to install (I suspect my comps.xml file is incorrect). Is there a way to see anaconda logs (and find out at what point exactly it dies) ? If you are in graphical mode you need to do ctrlaltf3 to get out of graphical mode and into tty mode. In this case you will goto tty3. From there you can switch to the other tty's by doing altfx where x is the tty you want to switch to. tty2 is a shell tty3 is some of the logs tty4 and 5 also have other logging output on them. tty7 returns you to graphical mode and tty1 is text mode if you are using that. I am doing this from memory but you should have the general idea. I suspect the info you are loking for will be on tty3 though.
