Someone on here told where they were buying their silver and I
seem to have lost that info. Could you or anyone on here give me
some advice on buying good silver at a decent price??
I seem to always be making my lists and checking it twice and then
starting all over. Does anyone else feel that they need s much
but cannot afford to get everything you need?? Just occasionally
order a couple of things; have a generator and guess it will do if
I get some silver to last at least through the bad times coming.
Thanks for all your patience!

RE: CS>Buying silver

2006-04-08 Thread Richard Harris
Hi Francis,

Congratulations on having OPEN EYES when dealing with someone half way
around the world that you don't personally know!

As a FL Pharmacist for 58 years, I share your caution. Barnum wisely
observed that "a sucker is born every minute!" Years ago, my wise Father
added to Barnum--"And two to take him!"

On this list, there are a number of Experts who are wise, learned and very
generous with their time and talents to help "us seekers" learn and NOT get
taken advantage of.

I buy my 99.99% round silver 12 guage wire from CCSG INC. because of V's
(one of the Experts) recommendation--V had bought from them and was highly
satisfied--as I am.

I would order the next batch from www.atlasnova.com because I now know the
site owner and trust him and his products completely. He sells silver wire
very economically in 3 foot lengths and also orders (from Taiwan) & sells
the best Laser Pointer I have ever seen--it uses 2 AAA batteries which makes
it's use much more economical than the pointers that use the expensive 3
small batteries.

I have NO financial connections with them, but admire their quality and and
integrity.

Please read my Site and Blog and find the 3 FREE pages of CS Uses and the 1
page of CS Favorites to which I refer often. Let me know if I can be of
help.

Sincerely,
___

Greetings,

I'm a pretty trust worthy person. So here's my question to the group:
When buying silver 999 or purity from a reliable? Or trust worthy?
Source, how do you know you are going to receive what you are paying
for? Short of getting a lab test on what you have purchased? Even if you
buy silver bullion from a bank, how can you determine if it is what they
say it is?

Don't mean to be the devil's advocate, just asking a logical question.

Any thoughts or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

2006-04-07 Thread Richard
Good point. I used to buy 99.99 silver in India from a "reputable "
bank and when , as a silversmith, I was making pieces that then
needed to be hall marked in the UK , I was refused on two occasions
refused sterling i.e 92.5 assay ! They never told me what was in the
7.5 % but it was NOT pure silver ! Bad batches of everything occur
everywhere and how often are they noticed ? Richard

There is a way to test it with specific garvity that you can do at home.
And there are companies tha strictly deal in metal nad their reputation depends

Re: CS>Buying silver...

2002-10-18 Thread Arnold Beland
Hi to all,
I have been getting some emails since this was posted so I will ask your
indulgence to explain the matter.
I had a refinery make a special run of 12 gauge silver wire for me. I
had to order 1100 ounces for them to do it. My intention was to offer it on
Ebay (in my Ebay store), which I did. It was only there for a few days when
it was removed by Ebay because someone complained about my mentioning CS. I
now list it each day around 9PM EST as Silver Wire. I sell this by the
ounce. One ounce is about 34 inches. If anyone on the list would like to
purchase some, I will sell it for $8.50 per ounce and that will include
shipping (in the U.S.)
Best Regards,
Arnold Beland

We have been making CSW for apprx 4 yrs using silver flat wire. It is
.9995 We have always purchased it thru a rock shop! I know it's
available thru Woodworker's Supply in Albequerque/USA also. They have a
website, .com

I used the silver maple leafs for years with good results. It has always
worried me some that people would have them hanging down from alligator clips
made of god-knows-what. They were also difficult to keep clean. I finally got
a refinery to make a special run of 12 gauge wire for me (1100 ounces).
The wire is much easier to use.

I decided to buy two silver Canadian Maple Leafs at the local coin shop.
They are 99.99 silver, and seem to have produced some fine CS.

I did the same, as did two of my close friends. They cost between $5.50 and
$7.00 each. We have all had excellent results.

Really? They are just what I bought from my neighbor who let us use his
generators to get started. The electrodes are not THICK - very thin
actually - but are 1/2" wide and 6" long.

What are most people using??? How does the size of the electrodes
affect the strength of the cs or the length of time to process?

Holy Cow!
1/2" X 6" electrodes should last forever, unless you're selling it by the
tanker!

My choice would be the flat stock because the immersed surface area
would be much greater than the wire.
A couple of feet would last your lifetime, unless your manufacturing
to sell.

Hi, Shelley,

Using almost any search engine, search for "silver colloid" and/or
"colloidal silver".You'll get more information than you know what to do
with.
