Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Scan taking hours instead of minutes on recent nightlies
I'd normally see the full text index taking less than a minute to complete, and the whole scan just over four minutes. I've indeed applied a change to the FTS plugin a few days ago. Could you please enable logging for plugin.fulltext and re-run a scan? -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

mherger wrote: > > > But does it finish successfully? Would you have many playlists, or large > > playlists? > Thanks Michael, Yes - it finishes successfully. I ran the scan a second time in case it was one of those things that takes ages the first time and then is faster subsequently, but it makes no difference to the scan time. The scan information for that second scan says: iTunes Import (40885 of 40885) Complete 00:01:42 iTunes Playlist Import (31 of 31) Complete 00:02:24 Building full text index (7 of 7) Complete 02:40:39 Create library views (5 of 5) Complete 00:00:01 Find updated coverart files (1549 of 1549) Complete 00:00:01 Database Optimize (2 of 2) Complete 00:00:05 The server has finished scanning your media library. Total Time: 02:44:52 (Friday, September 11, 2020 / 6:54 PM) I'd normally see the full text index taking less than a minute to complete, and the whole scan just over four minutes. Those 31 playlists vary in size, but the biggest of them is 3,800 items. The next biggest is 1500. Does that give you any clues as to what's changed? Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Scan taking hours instead of minutes on recent nightlies
I'm seeing a consistent change in scanning in the most recent nightlies. LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1599321733 (from September 6th) completes scans within minutes as normal, but all the nightlies after that take several hours to scan. The logjam is in the Albums section (2 of 7) of the 'Building full text index' stage of the scan. That used to take 40 seconds or so, but now takes just short of three hours. I can't see anything odd in the logs - it just runs really slowly through that stage, with the rest of the scan happening at the same speed as normal. But does it finish successfully? Yep, IP addresses are ok. But always good not to overlook the most basic things. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS refusing to connect
You've probably checked this, but I assume the IP address of the LMS server hasn't changed with all the powering down of things (like your router maybe). That would explain LMS running, but not being accessible via the webGUI. *Home:* VBA 4TB (2.5) -or- rPi4B/pCP6.1/4TB>LMS 7.9.3>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B/pCP6.1/4TB>LMS 7.9.3>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (ethernet, Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>LMS 7.9.3>Squeezelite *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP4.0, hifiberry Dac+Pro, 4TB USB (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* ripping: dbpa > FLAC; post-rip: mp3tag, PerfectTunes; Streaming: Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112921 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS refusing to connect
I feel dumb about this because several years ago when I hung out a lot in these forums I could help other people resolve such matters. I've been running LMS 8.0.0 -- one of the nightlies from 1-2 months ago -- just fine on a Raspberry Pi under Max2play. Two days ago it had an abrupt shutdown when an electrician in the house started flipping circuit breakers randomly until he found the one he wanted. Since then LMS appears to start, but none of my SBs can see it and iPeng can't see it. If I point my browser to :9000 I get the message: "This site can't be reached. 111.222.333.444 refused to connect. Try checking the connection [and] checking the proxy and firewall. ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" On the other hand, the max2play web interface indicates that LMS is running, and if I login via Putty I see that the squeezeboxserver process is running, with the same pid that max2play reports. If I click max2play's button "Open Squeezebox Server Webadministration" I get the same "refused to connect" message as when I go manually to LMSip:9000 (no surprise there). So: - what is likely to be going on? - where do I look in the logs to figure out what is going on? As a final note, I cleverly set up a (almost) clone of my functioning LMS on another SD card installed in another RPi. Then, not so cleverly, I had the backup RPi plugged in (but powered down) on the same strip as the functioning RPi. It is now exhibiting the same behavior, so I'm wondering if it came on after one off/on of the breaker, and then shut down abnormally on the next off/on, corrupting the SD card in a manner similar to the corruption on the main RPi. That is, if file corruption is indeed the issue. Thanks in advance for help with diagnosis and resolving. Audio system in transition while still relocating from halfway around the world. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Scan taking hours instead of minutes on recent nightlies
Hi, I'm seeing a consistent change in scanning in the most recent nightlies. If I revert to 8.0.0-1599321733, the scan times go back to normal. This is on macOS 10.13.6, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 16GB RAM. Has anyone else seen this? Would logs help? If so, which ones?
