Hmm, I'm pretty sure I've never validated your key before, so I did it
on your post and it came back green.

The installer still is the son of a dirty hack, but as it's a one time
action ... :-)
Would be a good idea to fix it for the next release, if one now goes
"Back" from "Changelog" to "Licence Agreement" and "Agree"s again to
the licence he'll end up immediately at "Choose program folder"
screen.
Albeit "Back" is then disabled, it's still active and non-functional
when getting to folder choose stage by using regular way to "Next" on
"Changelog".

Nevertheless ... all in all quite good work and to be honest: if there
were no more room for improvement we can discover it would become
boring, wouldn't it. :-)

When running Folder Maintenace Centre the bottom right hand side text

It's finally closed :-)

2004-02-19 Thread Stefan Tanurkov
Hello All,

The final version is now available from our site. The direct
  download URL is:
  http://www.ritlabs.com/download/the_bat/the_bat2.04.04.exe

It includes some more fixes, so it's supposed to be better than
  2.04.3 :-)

Thank you very much for your support, patience, insistence and
  thoroughness!

The next version is scheduled for release in mid-April. And we have
a lot of things to do. Beside traditional bug fixing, here is a list
  of what you can expect:

  - New Filtering system. It was waiting for quite a long time, I hope
it won't take long to deliver it to the Beta stage
  - New format of index files in order to make it possible to have
folder message bases bigger than 2 G (ouch), plus making it
possible to keep some useful counters like (number of flagged
messages, number or messages of a particular Colour Groups)
  - Search (Virtual) Folders (not a nice name yet, we'll think about
it)
  - New HTML editor which is also going to replace Windows Editor for
plain text editing and maybe it will be used as the template
editor because it will have highlight, etc. It will also support
Asian Character sets
  - Improved message header control
  - Improved toolbars, menus, maybe - already with customisation.
  - some more surprises I won't speak now :-)

Obviously, we don't have much time, but we'll try our best.

  Thank you again!

I had experienced this in previous builds in this beta series, though the
background on mine was black rather than the blue-ish color yours is
showing. So it was a circle building in a square . . . I am no longer

Yes! Big improvement with Big5 HTML messages: I can now read the text
in the RTV/HTML viewer. It's not perfect yet, as inline graphics are
not displayed, but I would approve a release of this version. It
serves my purpose, as inline graphics in business emails are not
appreciated anyway.

GB2312-encoded messages still display with squares, though. Drifhat
will have a say on that...

Anyway: Thanks, and please keep working on it. :-)

I remember your mail and, as far as I remember, the bug started on my
PC roughly at the same time, although it looked somehow different here
(the transparent parts around the circle remain in the window
background colour - see attachment). I loaded all the different betas
with no change.

I have just downloaded and tried again "The Bat! v2.02 CE RC2" of
December 6, 2003 (sounds like archeological digging :) and the bug is
definitely NOT present in it. But it is there with beta 21

As it is a minor cosmetic problem, I did not
bother until today as the new update is due to come. I don't really
mind living with this buglet :), I just wanted to know what causes it.
