As I mentioned earlier, have you kept messages on server for the last 10 years, and TB has to download 1 million headers first to check whether the messages have already been downloaded? -- Cheers, Thomas. This happens to me periodically, and it seems to be related only to accounts of a certain host. Not the same host always, but when it happens, the accounts that are hanging are all of the same one. The latest problem is occurring with the two I have on small orange. Tomorrow, it may not hang up, but today it did. I am not on Win10 so the MsMpEng.exe is not the problem here. -- Best Regards, Maggie http://www.OurCabinOnTheCreek.com Fear is a form of alertness. -Computer, from Aurora Current version is 9.1.18 | 'Using TBUDL' information: http://www.silverstones.com/thebat/TBUDLInfo.html

One thing you might want to check is if there's some program that's hogging CPU time. Move your cursor down into the task bar and right-click. Then click on TASK MANAGER. When it comes up click on the header POWER USAGE to get the most hungry app to the top. (My apologies if you're already familiar with this). Microsoft automatically runs a program called "Anti Malware Service Executable" (MsMpEng.exe). It's an anti-malware program which has lately (on my computer) become VERY demanding of CPU time. I have begun to have constant problems with this program freezing my computer until it releases the CPU. It has high priority and cannot be made lower priority. Just a thought. -- Regards, Jack Central Alabama USA The Bat! TB musst download all headers first to see which emails haven't been downloaded yet. That's why I leave no more than about 3000 - 4000 messages on the server, which at one account is 14 days, at another 180 days. Account / Properties / Mail Management / Keep messages on server for ... days > and sometimes it just goes on unless I have to DELETE TASK or ABORT > ALL. It goes on? Do you mean the it keeps downloading mails or it is stuck at Getting...? > Sometimes, it checks immediately as usually done. It may also be an instable connection with your server. > I have set auto check of emails every one minute. Why? If you already checked your emails now, do you think another important message that came a minute later cannot wait to be downaloded for a few more minutes? If so, email might not be right for you, yoou might be looking for an instant messenger. I check very 10 minutes. > Is there any suggestions/remedy for this? Just some ideas. -- Cheers, Thomas.
