[Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0

2020-05-07 Thread jraby
Another datapoint:

I just tested again on 5.3.0-43 since I thought I remember having seen
the issue there too.

It does have the problem:

May 7 09:03:25 x1 kernel: [0.00] Linux version 5.3.0-43-generic
(buildd@lcy01-amd64-024) (gcc version 7.5.0 (Ubuntu 7.5.0-3ubuntu1~18.04))
#36~18.04.2-Ubuntu SMP Thu Mar 19 16:03:35 UTC 2020 (Ubuntu
5.3.0-43.36~18.04.2-generic 5.3.18)
May 7 09:04:27 x1 kernel: [ 69.099086] i915 :00:02.0: GPU HANG: ecode

May 7 09:04:27 x1 kernel: [ 69.100094] i915 :00:02.0: Resetting rcs0 for
hang on rcs0

(I've gone back to 4.15 to avoid this problem and the docker issue mentioned
above)

[Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0

2020-05-02 Thread jraby
Ran all day yesterday with 5.3.0-52.46 (on 18.04), no GPU hang problem
at all. So that's great.

However, I'm having an unrelated problem (only) with this kernel and I'm
not sure where I should report it. Could someone direct me to the right
place?

---

With 5.3.0-52.46 , I'm getting the following every time docker starts up
(and any docker operation just hang). This doesn't happen with the
latest 5.3.0 kernel for 18.04 (5.3.0-46.38~18.04.1):

[Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0

2020-05-01 Thread jraby
Initial testing suggests that the problem is resolved in 5.3.0-52.

I saw hangs every time I'd try to crop a picture in gThumb, now it works like
it should.
(haven't / cannot test related Zoom video hangs, but will report back if not
fixed.)

[Bug 1872001] Re: 5.3.0-46-generic - i915 - frequent GPU hangs / resets rcs0

2020-05-01 Thread jraby
What would be a good way to test the proposed 5.3.0-52-generic kernel for eoan
on 18.04?
add the eoan proposed repo and install only the kernel pkgs?

Just installed rrdcached and had the same problem.
/var/lib/rrdcached doesn't exist after package installation, I guess the pkg

[Bug 605891] Re: [SRU] /var/lib/otrs/Config should be writable by www-data for the config interface to work

2010-07-16 Thread jraby
I changed the permissions back to root.root 755 for the directory
(/var/lib/otrs/Config)

Then upgraded to the proposed package and the permissions were correctly set to
root.www-data 775.
The web configuration interface works.

Thanks for the quick fix!

[Bug 605891] [NEW] /var/lib/otrs/Config should be writable by www-data for the config interface to work

2010-07-15 Thread jraby
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: otrs2

By default, the web based configuration interface can't save its data as it
doesn't have write access to this directory:
  /var/lib/otrs/Config (root.root 755)

Changing the permission with the following command seems to solve the issue:
 dpkg-statoverride --update --add root www-data 775 /var/lib/otrs/Config

If the fix is adequate, would it be possible to change the permissions
in the package?

Thanks.

2010-04-12 Thread jraby
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: acidbase

After installing acidbase 1.4.4 on lucid lynx (amd64), I'm getting
errors in the apache log when I click on pretty much every link in the

Your new package seems to work,
no more error in the logs and the interface works as it should.

[Bug 552636] [NEW] bacula-server 5.0.1: package update should warn about required database update

2010-03-31 Thread jraby
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bacula-server

While upgrading bacula-server on Lucid, the update process should warn the user
about the required catalog database update.
With the 5.0.x releases, the catalog format is now version 12 (version 11 with
3.0.x).

As it is right now, the upgrade process stops bacula-director, upgrades it and
then restarts it.
The startup message show no error:

 * Stopping Bacula Director...
   ...done.
Processing configuration...Ok.
 * Starting Bacula Director...
   ...done.

But at this point the director aborts, as seen in the logs:
31-Mar 11:41 bacula-dir JobId 0: Fatal error: Version error for database
bacula. Wanted 12, got 11
31-Mar 11:41 bacula-dir JobId 0: Fatal error: Could not open Catalog
MyCatalog, database bacula.
31-Mar 11:41 bacula-dir JobId 0: Fatal error: Version error for database
bacula. Wanted 12, got 11
31-Mar 11:41 bacula-dir ERROR TERMINATION
Please correct configuration file: /etc/bacula/bacula-dir.conf

I think the upgrade process should tell the admin about the required database
update with an hint to the script:
/usr/share/bacula-director/update_mysql_tables

ProblemType: Bug
Architecture: amd64
