Here I am talking about approx 60 users, 2 Zone, 4 Team, 4 team leaders, and other then that field engineers who get calls from office or Team leaders. yes these are the kind of details you need to capture before you begin making changes. -Satya fossevents.in/ http://www.fossevents.in/ -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

This should compare with other services in Nehru Place, where I believe you can go to a store and they will fill your hard drive with all windows software :) * If the customer wants training then this can be offered at their home at a fee. I am thinking we should offer similar services to what people are used to in the Windows world, I know this may not sound very comforting for some of us, but thats what people are used to ;-) Ubuntu cannot get success (in India) without the project like DebBundle Since there was no clue given about which store is The ASUS store , so i tried my luck with at least three different places where the name of ASUS was mentioned ,one of them prominently only dealt in ASUS so i presumed this to be the store Ubuntu folks have mentioned , this store did not have Ubuntu based Netbooks at all also he tried to lure me into giving discounts on Windows pieces and offered me some DOS based versions but No Ubuntu was available with him, there were two other stores which had ASUS displayed only one of them agreed and offered Ubuntu based Netbooks . curiously found a Compaq desktop bundled with Red Flag Linux :-) overall my experience not a good one like other Distro's in past so i will let this case too for rest now. -Satya fossevents.in -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

Why I have created this group?? * Group shouldn't be bounded to any Distribution like fedora, Ubuntu, etc. not possible , it will remain your dream , also you should know you do not have time and energy even if you have how long will you doing it , any way we have been around and will be around to keep an eye on your thoughts. * Each and every year there are atleast 3/4 events conducted by wbut students. But both organisers and attendees face problem due to the lack of any common place. Few of the problems are: 1. many students who want to attain these events missed out due to lack of news. fossevents.in was conceived for the same purpose , talk about it work on it 2. if there is any change in date or time then organiser can update the info on event's wiki (or web) page but if any attendee missed out those changes, will cause problems. 3. lack of experienced volunteers. and many more. Also, a group like this will help to bring forward many hidden talents and at the same time, it will be helpful for Linux users. which means folks not on facebook can't join. + If you want to have some real service to the community, come out of facebook and other social networks to build the community. First, I have though about this. But later on talking with fedora guys, I found that there are already many groups created like this and almost all failed. Also, I couldn't find any free website i.e., providing wiki pages where anyone can write (information, FAQ, etc) about Linux and also providing mailing list. Ya! Group shouldn't be bounded to any Distribution like fedora, Ubuntu, etc. ok here is my piece of advice like what others have said , you can contribute by writing code , be it fedora , ubuntu or any other distro all will get benefited also it will help you in your career having said that what you do today will decide your future path .. have a nice day , i am out of this thread. -Satya -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

We have approached some of the market leaders of the IT segment and even niche software developers for visually-challenged, like Freedom Scientific. Shockingly their hardware-software bundles cost way more than usual IT set-ups.
