Hey calzzada,
(sorry, don't know your real name)

We're not going to do stuff at the railway station, but we're going to
have an even in the hackerspace in Schaarbeek (5 minutes from the
station). Here's the site:

https://hackerspace.be/Software_Freedom_Day_2011

Great that you want to tag along!

We might try to get a booth there for free if we can convince them to see it as
a sponsorship..http://www.b-rail.be/corporate/N/environment/sponsoring/index.php
(vervoerbewijzen) is.

The NMBS open up a way to be mobile, it's a freedom. SFD is about freedom as
well.A FREE and SECURE OS is a surplus for their customers. The sponsorship
would be 2m² for a day, that's natura..

Re: [Ubuntu-be] Software Freedom Day - call for volunteers

2011-07-29 Thread Jurgen Gaeremyn
Apparently the problem is that you need "asielrecht" to organise an
event in an NMBS-station. The prices are ridiculous:

€600 for a booth (per day)
€195 per person who hands out flyers (per day)

But it's a different story if you do the same just outside the railway
station - on the public road. In that case you need permission of the
local authorities.

To hand out flyers, that can often happen for free (f.e. in Brussels,
except on a few banned places).
If you want to do more (f.e. set up a booth), you'll need permission.
For doing something public in Brussels like setting up a booth, you need
to contact affich...@brucity.be and explain the cause/activity. That's
exactly what I'm going to do now.

Grtz,
Jurgen.
