[Bug 104553] Re: upgrade failed when fontconfig cache dirs are newer than system date
I believe that while this bug is a symptom of Bug #134074, fontconfig should still be able to continue with fonts from the future. [Bug 134074] Re: Text based install writes files +GMT offset
While the listed bugs are symptoms of this bug, I do believe that fontconfig should not fail for a reason as simple as files being in the future. Perhaps a fontconfig guru would be better qualified to confirm that statement. [Bug 139301] LIRCD starts up and dies right away
Public bug reported: Whenever I start the LIRC-Demon it dies after a split second for, apparantly, no reason. This is also indicated by IRKICK which shows, right after the start of LIRCD, that it is connected to the LIRC demon and one second later it tells me that the link between the two has been disconnected. Installed packages are: kdelirc_4%3a3.5.7-1ubuntu4_i386.deb lirc_0.8.2-0ubuntu5_i386.deb lirc-modules-source_0.8.2-0ubuntu5_all.deb I normally report bugs using apport. However, apport doesn't seem to recognize the dying of LIRCD so I had to do this manually. Please tell me which outputs you need. [Bug 88152] Re: nvidia-glx] Switch user/switch VT causes lockup with compiz/beryl/desktop-effects
Same problem here. Login user 1,VT 1, with full desktop effects. Fast user switch to user 2, VT 2, who has no effect. Fast user switch to user 1, on VT 1 -> black screen with responding mouse cursor only. CTRL+ALT+FKEY for VT switch not operational The only solution I have at the moment to come out of this is a system reset. I hate doing those... No password set for any user. Up-to-date Gutsy from new install, nvidia-glx-new. This used to work well on the same machine, with Feisty, manual nvidia driver (9755 I believe) and git packages of compiz/fusion (Trevino). This is a rather annoying bug that I consider a blocker either for the Fast-User switching by default, or for the Desktop effect by default. I do not understand its medium importance. I saw the concept work, so there is a way to fix this (wishful thinking?), now is the time before the beta cycle! I am clearly willing to help with testing and any additional info needed. [Bug 139299] block global shortcuts behavior wrong in feisty
Public bug reported: This mostly affects VNC client windows. For each of the following paragraphs, the VNC server system is running Fiesty. In 6.10, I right click the title bar of my vncviewer window, select Advanced -> Special Application Settings. Then I go to the Workarounds tab, select Block Global Shortcuts and select Force. Now I can pass through KDE specific shortcuts directly to the VNC desktop that the vncviewer is connected to. Specifically, I can hold down left alt and middle click to change the Z value of the window under the cursor. Great. In Fiesty, doing the exact same thing results in left alt + middle click affecting the windows on the local KDE instance, instead of passing the clicks through to the VNC desktop. This means my vncviewer window disappears to the bottom of the stack when I click rather than affecting the window on the VNC desktop I am working with. Let me know if there are any other bits of information that would be useful to know. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- block global shortcuts behavior wrong in feisty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139299 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Kees Cook and I ended up looking at this in some detail as we were curious how kernel modules get automatically loaded and discovered that while the driver can be manually loaded the specific PCI id that your device has is listed in modules.pcimap but not in modules.alias. [Bug 136637] Re: apparmor reinitializes caps late in boot
Kees is right, AppArmor composes capabilities, so as long as AppArmor is loaded capabilities are being enforced, whether or not applications are confined or unconfined. AppArmor's additional capability mediation that is specified in profiles is applied after standard capability mediation is applied. The stacking of the capability module is fake in that AppArmor will never call into it. Allowing capability to stack was done because suse had many customers trying to load the capability module and having it fail resulted in bug/support requests. It also has the benefit that enabling/disabling AppArmor doesn't have to change the initscripts to load capability. -- apparmor reinitializes caps late in boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136637 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 139286] Pinnacle 310i remote not working at all
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-source-2.6.20 My TV card Pinnacle 310i works fine as far as viewing DVB-t television. I need to add saa7134-dvb into /etc/modules, place dvb-fe-tda10046.fw into /lib/firmware/2.6.20-16-generic and then reboot, and the card is installed and works fine. I do sudo cat /proc/bus/input/devices and the remote is recognised and an event# assigned. I do cat /dev/input/event# with zero output from the remote. If I try with an event# for the mouse or the keyboard, there is much output. I have tried the various input tools Gerd Knorr, from LIRC people, etc I have tried installing LIRC and lircd as per their instructions. I have looked at the source for the input layer, and the source for the dvb. I have tried this card on an ASUS mbrd, an Intel mbrd. I have tried changing PCI slots.
