[Bug 915662] Re: calibre cannot convert RAR Archives
Hello, I can confirm this bug as I tried to convert some comic scan from rar to epub this morning. Here is how I fixed it: I downloaded tar.bz package from http://sourceforge.net/projects/calibre/files/ (Of course you need to choose i686 or x86_64 depending on your OS) then extract the file libunrar.so located in the archive lib folder and copy it to your /usr/lib/ folder. It is now working fine, but I ran into another error message because Calibre doesn't seem to recognize comic archive unless your rename your .rar archive to .cbr (I assume that the same is needed for .zip to .cbz). Once done, convert to epub worked flawlessly, and my Sony eReader could open it fine. I hope it will helpfull :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/915662 Title: calibre cannot convert RAR Archives To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calibre/+bug/915662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 613897] Re: Kernel 2.6.32-24 regression - Lucid 10.04 Freezes at Shutdown
Well it's probably not the same problem then since the freeze on shutdown was 100% of the time for me... No matter if it was from Gnome or from TTY with shutdown -P now, it always froze... I just did not noticed it before because I had faulty hard drive which made my PC freeze randomly so I always hard rebooted ^^ On Wed, Aug 25, 2010 at 9:06 AM, nomnex <613...@bugs.launchpad.net> wrote: > >From memory, acpi=off (or any other grub parameter) did not solve my > issue. [Bug 613897] Re: Kernel 2.6.32-24 regression - Lucid 10.04 Freezes at Shutdown
I finally managed to fix the problem by removing the acpi=off from my grub kernel options... Don't know if it's a bug or not, but I also installed the nut package (and enabled it to standalone mode). The reason I installed it is that when I had a look at "/etc/init.d/halt" script, I noticed that in case of shutdown, it called the /etc/init.d/ups-monitor which was not installed... -- Kernel 2.6.32-24 regression - Lucid 10.04 Freezes at Shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/613897 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 613897] Re: Kernel 2.6.32-24 regression - Lucid 10.04 Freezes at Shutdown
Same probleme here on X86_64 ubuntu 10.04... PC hangs on shutdown... I disabled splash to get messages... All processes are correctly terminated, crypted partition are correctly closed and then unmounted and the last message I get is : System will now Hald... I hear hard drives shutdown, then I just have to push (with no need to hold) the power button for it to shutdown. I think that the system is correctly shutdown, it just "wait" after everything is actually stopped, the same way it would wait for user to remove disk on live-cd shutdown ... -- Kernel 2.6.32-24 regression - Lucid 10.04 Freezes at Shutdown https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/613897 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 524454] Re: Networking is disabled on boot
I just got the same issue, but it wasn't related to suspend or sleep, I just "hard-shutdowned" it. Only thing I made different related to network was to plug the laptop on cable ethernet instead of using wireless... But it worked fine. I hard shutdowned it by pure laziness as everything was working fine... -- Networking is disabled on boot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/524454 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 235699] Re: gnome system tray glitches with compiz enabled
Hi Here is the lspci output for my video card : 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation G71 [GeForce 7900 GS] (rev a1) and I use nvidia drivers from nvidia-glx-new package. Anyway, it seems that one of the last two kernel/nvidia-glx updates solved the problem since I did not see any more glitches since then. I don't know if compiz is responsible for that, and maybe it was a VGA driver problem, but problem only occured when compiz was running with both, gutsy and hardy. I think you can simply close this bug for the moment. I will reopen it if it happens again and if I have any more details...
