[Bug 189288] Re: Couldn't open display computer:/// Places Computer
Yep, same here. trying to open "Computer" or "Places/Computer" gives the DBus Error etc. Karmic daily build 12 June 09, Ext 4. I've reinstalled Nautilus and gvfs to no effect. This bug has been live for over a year, covering several releases of Ubuntu, and still hasn't been addressed. Whoever keeps closing the bug reports as "Fixed' obviously doesn't know how to Google. -- Couldn't open display computer:/// Places Computer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/189288 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 383468] Re: xorg segvaulting
My experience (Dell Optima 280GX with integrated Intel graphics) might point to the same problem: Since yesterday's (June 3) update, at screen idle (I've disabled it now in Power Manager), and running a game, video or youtube full screen, I get kicked out to the log-in screen. -- xorg segvaulting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/383468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 376786] Re: hal-storage-mount Segfaults
Now here's an interesting thing. I tried a Fedora 11 live CD (the USB stick had always shown under Fedora 10), and couldn't mount the stick. So I tried using Palimpsest (the Gnome disk utility which is standard in Fedora 11), and hey presto, it identified that there was a mountable disk under the stick's top level, mounted it, and there is my backed up /Home. I've installed Palimpsest into Karmic from Synaptic (perhaps it's gnome- disk-utility if you want to use apt-get install), and bingo, I've got my back up disk back. -- hal-storage-mount Segfaults https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/376786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 278468] Re: NetworkManager crashed with SIGSEGV when I connect a 3G mobile phone
** Description changed: + See update at bottom of frame. + + Binary package hint: network-manager Intrepid Alpha 6 with all updates. Mobile is a Samsung A411 which is reported as a Z100 and which I use as a broadband modem with pon/poff in terminal. I've never tried to use NM 0.7 to control it. NM recognised it when I connected it to a USB port, and then disappeared from the Gnome panel, triggering this bug report. But I'm still connected to my wireless router. ProblemType: Crash Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 ExecutablePath: /usr/sbin/NetworkManager Gconf: IfupdownConfig: auto lo iface lo inet loopback Package: network-manager 0.7~~svn20080928t225540+eni0-0ubuntu2 ProcAttrCurrent: unconfined ProcCmdline: /usr/sbin/NetworkManager ProcEnviron: PATH=/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin Signal: 11 SourcePackage: network-manager Stacktrace: #0 0xb7f4c96f in ?? It re-appeared after a system re-start, and connecting the Samsung A411 brought up a dialogue which let me enter my service provider and connected me straight onto Telstra 3G broadband via the Samsung mobile phone. Amazing stuff. + + When I switched wireless back on while 3G was still connected, and + disconnected 3G, I couldn't connect to the Net until I re-identified my + particular SSID. I guess that's a feature, not a bug, but it isn't + inconvenient anyway. -- NetworkManager crashed with SIGSEGV when I connect a 3G mobile phone https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/278468 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
