[Bug 551514] [NEW] Unable to bring Karmic 9.10 into standby
Public bug reported: OS : Karmic 9.10 2.6.31-20-generic Laptop : Toshiba Satellite A135-S4499 Issue : 1)First time when requested to go into standby (either via Shutdown menu or via lid close action which has been setup properly), laptop goes into standby and comes out of it successfully. 2)Second time when i request it to go into standby , doesn't go into standby, but apparently just disconnects WLAN connection, Mutes sound system and locks screen. But system keeps running and i can re-login into it. 3)If i shutdown the system, boot it up and try brining it into standby, it follows from step 1) above. 4)This problem wasn't there in Karmic from start(stable release), it started somewhere in between. Unfortunately i don't recollect whether it started after certain update. I would have loved to test jaunty on my system.but i am really really busy with some very important academic exams right now...so no chance of testing jaunty till March end i guess :( I will try and test them as soon as possible! Since the problem occurs with both "totem" and "VLC", it seems problem lies in the kernel. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: totem I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy (release April 2008) and sometimes when i try to play any multimedia content through totem(2.22.1-0ubuntu2), entire system crashes(screen freezes and doesnt respond to any keypress) and nothing can be done. I just have to restart the system through power button! Re: [Bug 180953] Re: libphp5 module does not load in apache2
I had libxml2 version 2.6.0 and 2.6.30 installed. The symlink /usr/local/lib/libxml2.so pointed to the 2.6.0 version of libxml2. Making the symlink point to the 2.6.30 solved the problem. Since I upgraded my machine from Dapper to Edgy to Feisty to Gutsy, shouldn't the upgrade process take of the libxml2 version as well?
