Same problem, but on 32 bit. Also saw the bug mentioned by Matjaz above, and believe I am experiencing https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/brasero/+bug/374101 regarding normalization (will work on that too). [Bug 497607] Re: Kernel Panic (?) when watching streaming video
I may have narrowed it down a little more. Though I still don't have anything logged, I had the same panic again today (non-responsive, caps- lock blinks, needs hard reset), BUT for the first time it was NOT when using a sound/streaming video ap. This time it happened when using Google Earth. This suggests to me that this is likely something to do with my ATI integrated card and the open source driver. -- Kernel Panic (?) when watching streaming video https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/497607 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I would appreciate anyone with similar hardware/OS (ATI Xpress 200m /Karmic-Jaunty) to let me know if they experience this when viewing video or flash video. [Bug 497607] Re: Kernel Panic (?) when watching streaming video
Happened again at 2:53 Dec 17. Same scenario (different site, but same software). Was not in full screen this time. Still nothing indicated in log files (hard reset again). At this point I suspect this is graphics or flash related. Would like to know how I could get some information on what precisely my laptop was trying to do when it locked up. [Bug 497607] [NEW] Kernel Panic (?) when watching streaming video
Public bug reported: When watching content streamed from thecomedynetwork.ca my laptop locked up. The sound began to repeat, video froze, mouse non-responsive, no entry accepted from keyboard. This required a hard reset. I was unable to see anything in my log files (occurrence should be at about 18:06 Dec 16). I suspect the main cause is either graphics or sound related. Possible relation to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/495322 (reported when on Jaunty). This is a FRESH install of Karmic, not upgraded. No hardware changes. Memory tested OK. ubuntu-restricted-extras is installed, otherwise this system is basically out-of-the-box.
