Ubuntu 10.10 (maverick) Nordic Remix Edition med fullständigt språkstöd
Jag har nu uppdaterat de nordiska versionerna av installationsskivorna för senaste Ubuntu 10.10 som släpptes precis. Det finns nu skivor byggda för Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Xubuntu samt Lubuntu. Lubuntu är en ny variant som använder resurssnåla LXDE som skrivbordsmiljö. Alla skivor utom Lubuntu finns både för 32- och 64-bitarsdatorer. Största skillnaden mot ”originalet” är att dessa skivor endast har språkstöd för de nordiska länderna (och engelska). Observera att det utökade språkstödet endast gäller för ”live”-delen av skivan, resten av skivan är precis som originalet. Kör Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat direkt från skivan med fullständigt språkstöd på svenska, engelska, norska (bokmål/nynorsk), finska, danska, samiska och isländska. Du kan installera ett helt normalt Ubuntu 10.10-system direkt från skivan (precis som med originalet). Precis som tidigare kan du använda skivan (utan att göra ändringar på din hårddisk) för att prova Ubuntu innan du väljer att installera. Samtliga program går att köra direkt från skivan. There are 2 new strings in update-manager. I thought we were in string freeze now? Has this been approved? No init available Your system appears to be a virtualised environment without an init daemon, e.g. Linux-VServer. Hej alla, Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala) är snart ute och vi i översättningsgruppen ser gärna att ni rapporterar alla tänkbara felaktigheter i den svenska översättningen. Än en gång så är svenska det tredje största språket i en Ubuntu-utgåva. Det ligger tusentals timmar bakom detta. To become a member, you need to: - Sign the Ubuntu Code of Conduct. - Do translation suggestions for, at least, one month before apply to the team. - Be approved by, at least, two members of team, in order to ensure the quality of the translation work. - Use a neutral Spanish (not localized in any Spanish-spoken country). - Subscribe to the team mailing list and request to be a member. We (the Swedish Translator Team) uses a similar ruleset. Everyone can submit suggestions but only 2-4 persons are members of the team and have the possibility to approve suggestions. We recommend that all translations take place upstreams and then imported. My calculations shows that 95% of all Swedish translations are imported from upstream into Ubuntu, the rest is done in Launchpad (ubuntu-docs etc.) We have had a large number of new translators who submits really bad translations (Swedish is a very difficult language). Some even submits translations directly from Google Translate (so wrong and out of context). The problem we face now are all the open translations done in Launchpad (outside Ubuntu). Some are really bad and that will have a negative effect on the application usage, even if the application is a very good application. If this makes it work, a permanent solution is to edit /boot/grub/menu.lst as root (eg. Alt-F2 and type sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst, for instance), and add the same i8042.nopnp text after the # kopt=root=... line that looks a bit like the line I mention above; then run: sudo dpkg-reconfigure grub. Närmare 90% (ca 40 textsträngar) av alla program och dokumentation är översatta (det som saknas är i stort sett kompilatorer och felsökningsverktyg). Det mesta av arbetet sker utanför Ubuntu (GNOME, KDE, GNU med flera) men Ubuntu är ändå den mest översatta distributionen av alla. Lycka till med era uppgraderingar och nyinstallationer imorgon! Jaunty närmar sig
Nu börjar Ubuntu 9.04 (jaunty) närma sig.. Vi ber er därför att rapportera in alla språkliga fel som ni ser (antingen i hardy, jaunty eller annan utgåva). Har du kanske tips på olika program som inte är översatta? Rapportera på http://ubuntu-se.org/phpBB3/viewforum.php?f=34 eller via e-post till mig. Enklast är att klippa ut texten eller ta en skärmbild av den (enklare att identifiera textens ursprung). Från översättningsgruppen så kan jag meddela att svenskan i 9.04 kommer att vara större än någonsin. Vi närmar oss 90% (tredje största språket i Ubuntu efter spanska och franska). Det rör sig om 385103 försvenskade strängar i dagsläget. Översättningsgruppen står för ca 5-6% av dessa, resten importeras från programmets ursprung (upstreams) och är bland annat GNOME (jag översätter), KDE (Stefan Asserhäll), GNU och andra större projekt. P.S. När nästa version av ubuntu anses som färdig vore det en god gärning, att på central plats på hemsidan ange ett sätt att *uppdatera* sin nuvarande version utan att behöva göra en omstallation. För erfarna är detta inga problem men för många ett stort bekymmer då man riskerar att förlora alla sina sparade filer. Uppdateringshanteraren i jaunty kommer att poppa upp varje gång det finns minst ett paket att uppdatera. Uppdateringshanteraren kommer även att meddela när det finns en ny utgåva (9.04) och om du vill installera den. Du behöver *aldrig* installera om din dator. Jag själv installerade 7.04 och har bara uppdaterat systemet sedan dess. Sköter inte Uppdateringhanteraren det? Iaf de versioner av Ubuntu jag kört uppgraderat till. Inte så stor risk att uppgraderingen skriver över en fil som heter typ '/user/Dokument/mitt_skolarbete_viktigt_skriv_ej_över.doc' Pakethanteraren skriver *aldrig* över någon fil (utan att först be användaren att bekräfta) Daniels text inlägg handlade ju om översättning tror jag , inte uppgradering. God kväll, Här kommer en liten statusuppdatering från översättningsteamet. Arbetet har (precis som förra gången) försenats på grund av hög belastning i Launchpad/Rosetta. Ubuntus admin-folk har jobbat på bra för att vi stackars översättare ska få arbete att göra. Långt över 90% av alla översättningar importeras till Ubuntu och det är detta arbete som dragit över tiden. Bland annat är det översättningar från GNOME (som jag gör) och KDE3/4 (översätts av bland annat Stefan Asserhäll). Vi kan alltså se fram emot en i stort sett komplett svensk utgåva av Ubuntu 8.10.
