Many thanks for that, Greg. Had to change: Code: http://192.168.1.xxx/www/cgi-bin/fix.cgi to Code: http://192.168.1.xxx/cgi-bin/fix.cgi Is it safe to remove fix.cgi and fix.cgi.md5.txt after the fix has been applied? kmccourt's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3815 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
Hi testers, We have a "simple" 15 step procedure to fix the sourceforge download issues for piCorePlayer 2.00 and 2.01. :o If anyone is feeling adventuresome you might want to try this procedure. Please assume all the normal warning about using "beta" software. We are using the "User commands" feature to download a fix-it script. Code: Step 1. Click on [Tweaks] Step 2. Scroll to bottom of Tweaks page until you see User commands Step 3. Cut and paste the following into User command #1: sudo -u tc tce-load -i openssl.tcz Step 4. Cut and paste the following into User command #2: wget http://sourceforge.net/projects/picoreplayer/files/fix.cgi/download -O /home/tc/www/cgi-bin/fix.cgi Step 5. Cut and paste the following into User command #3: sudo chown tc:staff /home/tc/www/cgi-bin/fix.cgi; chmod 750 /home/tc/www/cgi-bin/fix.cgi Step 6. Click [Save] Step 7. Click [Main Page] Step 8. Click [Reboot] Step 9. Click [OK] After reboot. Step 10. Click [Tweaks] Step 11. Delete all the User commands. Step 12. Click [Save] Step 13. Cut and paste the following into your browser, edit the IP address (xxx is your IP address) and press [Enter] http://192.168.1.xxx/www/cgi-bin/fix.cgi Step 14. Click [Next >] to apply the fixes. Step 15. Click [OK] to Reboot piCorePlayer. You should now be able to install add-ons and download upgrades. These fixes will not be permanently available until piCorePlayer 2.02 is released. Good luck Greg Greg Erskine's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7403 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

They are stored in a persistent area. Yes it comes with more of a risk, but no more so than any LMS installation. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
I am using pCP 2.01 with an ES9023 I2S DAC using the generic driver, basically it´s working (and sounding fine). Yet today I have discovered a strange behavior: I had some HDCD-cds which I converted to 24/44.1 (using dbPoweramp). Since HDCD only has 20Bit of resolution actually 4 of the 24Bit shouldn´t be in use. When converting you can choose if 6dB of digital gain should be used, the problem occurs only with HDCDs making use of the "peak extension" feature where you do NOT use the +6dB option when converting to avoid clipping. Now I am playing two files containing the same song in different formats: a) 16Bit/44.1kHz containing the HDCD information, using "peak extension" b) HDCD-decoded version of the above file, +6dB not used. When measuring these two files using the DR-plugin with foobar they have exactly the same peak level and dynamic range. When playing these two files with my usual setup (SBT & USB DAC) they appear to play at exactly the same volume. When playing it with my RPi/ES9023/pCP2.01 b) is half as loud as a) (perceived, not measured). Any ideas of what is happening? Pi model B struggles with LMS and SOX if you need transcoding. I tried years ago and eventually moved to BBB. Just last week I put LMS on pCP and pi2, definitely the way to go. The auto start LMS option is to send a automatic command to the LMS cli Actual LMS on piCore will get easy, I know the pCP team is working on it. For what it is worth, you can run it on a model B, but the rpi2 would be recommended. paul-'s Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58858 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

OK, sorry, I had the impression that the LMS package was either included with piCorePlayer 2.01 or plain easy to install. This might be too early for me then. I am the sort of user who can follow recipes and to basic troubleshooting, but it seems that it is too early for me, and that I may have misunderstood the text in the piCorePlayer About page. I looked at the thread you mentioned, but it does not seem suited for users with my capabilities. I will wait till I can get a recipe to follow to install LMS on the RPi. I have not installed LMS on a Pi (only on a Cubietruck) however you can force squeezelite to use the local server by setting "Squeezelite server IP" in Squeezelite settings to 127.0.0.1 (localhost) *Players:* SliMP3,Squeezebox3 x3,Receiver,SqueezePlayer,PiCorePlayer x3,Wandboard *Server:* LMS Version: 7.9.0 - 1453293926 on Centos 7 VM on ESXi 6 on HP N54L *Plugins:* AutoRescan/BBCiPlayer/PowerSave/PowerSwitchIII/Squeezecloud *Remotes:* iPeng8/Orangesqueeze/PC/Jivelite *Music:* 383GB,1269 albums 17756 songs 4381 artists mostly FLACs *Want a webapp ?* See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104305-Webapp-for-LMS Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105018 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Announce: piCorePlayer 2.00
I just revived an old RPi Model B with a HiFiBerry card and piCorePlayer 2.01. It works fine and is as easy as ever to configure. Listening to music from it as I write this. Congratulations and a big thank you to everyone contributing to this latest and greatest version! ;) One question: I want to use it as a stand-alone net radio player in the future, therefore I wanted to install and enable LMS on it, so it will autostart my favourite radio station when powered on. According to the About page, it should be possible. I have enabled "Auto start LMS" under Tweaks in the menu and rebooted several times, but LMS does not seem to be running on the RPi. Instead, it finds LMS working off my Windows machine. It does not help to stop LMS on Windows, the RPi still does not find LMS running locally. I assume there are additional steps I must take to actually install LMS on the RPi. I have looked in the forums, but apparently not hard enough because I have not yet found out how to see if LMS is installed, and if not, how to install it. Any pointers would be welcome. I saw that user Bemused had a similar problem and got directions, so if someone can point me to these directions, I would be grateful. And forgive me if the answer seems too obvious to you.
