[videoblogging] Re: Google Video Downloader
I submitted a video on Google and placed it on my website at crystalvlogs.blogspot.com its not much mostly a slideshows for the grandparents in alabama but. I must say...it did better than I had anticipated the worry i had was how they have to "verfiy" your submission before they put it on the web. With blip.tv its instantenous...i like that better but because of the past troubles (which have cleared up by themselves btw) I said well let me try this to see what happens...it worked. and my video was approved in about 6 hours or so. so that was "okay"...i will just use that as my "backup" incase when blip decides to give me fits again... --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, "Steve Watkins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > That stuff from Google about preferred format is probably not as > absolute as some people think. That stuff from Google about preferred format is probably not as absolute as some people think. It can probably handle other formats jsut fine, or maybe slightly slowe. The mp3 advice may even be out of date as Google seem to have changed their system quite a lot since the first google beta service launched. [videoblogging] Re: Google Video Downloader
Bill, I had been trying to figure out how to do MPEG4 with MP3 audio for a looong time, until I learned of this statemment on Google video: "Please keep in mind that we also support other digital formats such as QuickTime, or Windows Media." Here's the full link: http://video.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=26562 So I decided to use Windows Media Encoder, which I found does a very nice job and was easy to use. Now the problem is that Google is not taking any more videos for its pay-to-download store, which is what some of us indie filmmakers have been waiting for. Anywone know when--or if--they're starting that up again? --Greg http://www.workingstiff.org --- In videoblogging@yahoogroups.com, "Bill Streeter" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Speaking of Google Video, they seemed to have added quite a few new > features including the ability to download PSP and iPod compatible > formats. [videoblogging] Re: Google Video Downloader
Speaking of Google Video, they seemed to have added quite a few new features including the ability to download PSP and iPod compatible formats. No rss feeds yet though. Now this has come up before, if one wants to submit video to google you have to convert your vid into one of their prefered formats. If you are a Mac user the easiest would be to submit a MOV file. But the problem is that they want your audio to be encoded as MP3. At first I thought that this wouldn't be a problem since Quicktime supports this. Well I was wrong. Quicktime no longer supports MP3 audio encoding. So I looked around for a solution. I discovered a LAME encoder (http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/22571) for QuickTime so I thought, great! this should work. I followed the instructions by installing the plugin in QuickTime and the framework in the correct place and no luck. Still no MP3 export support. Anyone else have this issue? Or has anyone found another solution?
