Adding custom labels to a contact

2012-08-23 Thread Jennie Facer
Hi,

I just went in and edited my contact, flicked over to the mobile label I
have for my contact, double tapped, flicked down, and there I found Create
custom label. I'm not sure why you aren't finding that there. How strange.

Re: how to add custom labels to contacts?

2012-08-23 Thread David Chittenden
Hello,

It sounds like you are getting two concepts confused in the contacts app.

The add field option is for adding fields that are not normally displayed such
as birthday or notes.

If you wish to add additional entries to fields that are always displayed in
the add/edit contact screen, but the title button for the field is not the
title you require, double-tap on the title button and a new screen appears that
gives you several choices for titles. Find the choice you want by flicking
horizontally or sliding your finger down the screen. One of the choices is
custom for if none of the choices match the label you require. After you
activate the choice you require with a double or split tap, the selection
screen closes and VO focus is placed in the edit field for that information.
When you add information in to the field, another field of the same type
appears so you can have multiple entries. The beauty of this system is that you
do not have multiple, wasted fields for information which you do not require.
This creates a much more flexibleand dynamic contacts database.

filters and labels in gmail - was Gmail app now has push notifications

2012-07-10 Thread Raul A. Gallegos
Hello Wayne, to do what you want you will need to set up a filter from
the gmail web site located http://mail.google.com/mail/h and it will
work there. It will be sorted accordingly when you use the native iPhone
mail app as well.

Good luck.

have filters applied when new messages come in that fit certain
criteria, like from this list. However, occasionally I may want to
apply more than one label to a message. I don't think this can be done
in the native mail app, since hwen you move a message from the inbox
to a folder, you have applied a label to it. And it doesn't seem wise
to keep moving it from folder to folder just to apply several labels.
I've got a lot of messages in my Gmail system, mainly ones that are
archived, so having multiple labels is a good thing for me to stay
organized.

One thing which this app also do is push notifications when you receive
new email. Of course, I think that's what got the thread discussion
about it in the first place. It does that very well by letting me know
when I have new messages in my inbox. However I don't know of a way to
get alerts for other mailboxes other than inbox. I also don't see a way
to add additional accounts. I may play with this a little more if I have
time, but at least for me, this doesn't warrant replacing the usage of
the native mail app which already does much on the iPhone.

Thanks.

ended up turning off the keyboard and now I am just using the onboard
keyboard on the screen. This is that similar issue that I have
experienced on webpages using Safari when I try to fill in forms. Other
than that, things seem very speech friendly with voiceover. Your action
buttons for each message are at the top of the screen instead of at the
bottom like they are in the default mail app. By default it will show
you a delete button, archive button, and more button. If you choose the
more button, you can do things like reply, Mark as spam, or added as a
label. The way I personally use Gmail, it doesn't require me to be on
the website much to do things like marking messages as spam, editing
labels, or moving things to other folders. So I probably will not be
using this app for very much. I am dictating right now, and I think what
I meant by the last sentence is that the things that I use Gmail for on
the website, I can still do there without having to use this app. For
typical male reading, replying, and composing, I can still use the
default mail app which comes with the iPhone.

Creating Labels in Digit-Eyes

2012-06-17 Thread Eileen Misrahi
Hi,

I just created a sheet of labels to see if I was having the same problem
posted on the list. I was able to create a sheet of labels. I first logged
in to the web site with my email address and password. It took me to the
next page, which I clicked on the link to get labels. I selected the Avery
label in the combo box and then tabbed to Okay. I needed to wait a couple of
seconds for the page to refresh to the next and clicked on the link to
create the PDF file. Once I opened this, I printed the labels. I tested the
bar codes and Digit-Eyes read it just fine. Can you explain where you are
having the issue in getting this to work? Thanks.

Yes, I think this is right on. I did purchase this program and had a heck
of a time with the non-standard size being used for the labels. I even
wrote to their support address asking about this and never got a response.
Expecting us to get someone to cut our labels is a bit much I think.

I've heard from three members of this board in the past week with issues
that involve printing Digit-Eyes labels on label stock that is three labels
across and 10 down.

This is a label where the geometry is very precise and where the code has to
be placed exactly, so it is the label that is most likely to have printing
problems, but this is unusual.

We have at least one person who is printing the labels perfectly, but was
having problems reading them with her iPhone. When she switched from
Staples equivalent labels to Avery ones, the problem went away.

I'll be getting samples from another of our customers, but I'd realy like to
know if there is anyone else who reads this board who has had issues?

If there is a fundamental problem with the Staples labels, I'd like to put
the information on the site and warn people not to buy them.
