Re: My thoughts on an iPad and iPhone was RE: iPhone versus iPad?

2012-04-19 Thread Sieghard
Hi Debbie,

I just wanted to correct you on one point just so people who read your
post aren't confused. As of the release of the iPhone 4S last October,
you can get a 64 Gig iPhone, so getting an iPad mainly because you
want more space is not necessary any more. There were rumours that the
new iPad may come in a 128 Gig version but that has, of course, not
happened.

I personally find the larger screen size can be good and bad. Yes, the
keyboard is much bigger and sometimes it's nice to have that extra
space, but the screen layout is also different in some cases and when
I bought an iPad for my Mom last year I used it for about 2 weeks to
set it up and so on and I sometimes found it harder to find stuff on
the screen because it is larger. This probably is a matter of
practice, but I don't see much of a point in owning both an iPhone and
iPad, but that's just my opinion.

Regards,
Sieghard

Not so, you can hit the 2x button and have it expand to take up the
whole screen.

Resolution will not improve but it will use more of the screen.

Yeah! But they will only use the amount of the screen that an iPhone would

Hi,

One correction. Although there are apps just made for the iPad, any app
that runs on an iPhone can run on an iPad.

does come with a 64 mb model so the ipad doesn't have a larger memory than
the biggist iphone. I find the larger screen much less user friendly and can
type about twice as fast on an iphone versus an ipad. You can use a blue
tooth keyboard with either divice and there are some apps that are
specificly made for the ipad and some specificly made for the iphone, but
overall, in my opinion, I see no reason to purchase an ipad if you already
own the iphone because it really doesn't do much you can't already do. Roger

 Hi

I have used an iPhone as well as my iPad and I can tell you that the iPad
is a lot easier to use than the iPhone as the screen has a lot more room for
gestures and the keyboard is much bigger which makes typing a lot quicker.
Another advantage is that it can come with up to 64 GB of storage double the
highest amount the iPhone provides. As well the sound is even clear than the
iPhone which is saying something as the iPhone has quite good sound.

Also if you want a laptop-like experience with your iPad you can get a
case with a built-in Bluetooth keyboard. I don't think Apple sell them but
I've googled for them and they are quite a few cases out that that do that
sort of thing.

Don't get me wrong, the iPhone is a lovely phone and that's what I will be
getting quite soon but if you are wanting something with more power and ease
of use for navigating the screen and keyboard then the iPad is for you. In
fact I think that it would complement the iPhone quite nicely. I know I sure
am looking forward to having both an iPad and an iPhone.

 Hi all,

what can you do with an iPad that you can't with an iPhone? I know the
screen is bigger, etcetc, but why would you get one if you already had an
iPhone?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to start a war, lol. I really want to
know. I'm wondering whether to get an iPad, or save up for a mac. I already
have a 4S, and whatever I get, I want it to be because it can do more, or
different things, or ttthere's no point.

for example, I have heard that you can do more with pages on a mac as it's
more accessible than it is on the iPhone, but is the iPad the same as the
iPhone? I would assume the answer is yes, because it uses the same app
store, but I'd love to hear from people if they can share experiences and/or
opinions and comparisons.

 Thanks in advance.

 best wishes,

 Danielle

Re: My thoughts on an iPad and iPhone was RE: iPhone versus iPad?

2012-04-18 Thread Nancy M
The iPad does not vibrate; the iPhone does.

The iPhone uses vibration to announce phone calls and the vibration
option is available for developers as well (we use it, for instance,
to indicate when a code is scanned).

If you have a hearing issue, you might want to consider this when
selecting which product you want.

Hi Debbie, I have the iPhone 4s and it's most definitely the 64gb model.
Now, what you might be thinking of is the iPhone 4. I believe that one
only went up to a 32gb model.

 Thanks.
