Re: Sharing Multiple USB HDs - can be done!
Yes, it is a good feature of an Airport Extreme. It should be noted that although you can share multiple drives this way through a hub you can not make one of those drives a Time Machine drive and effectively convert to a Time Capsule. Check whether it is WEP, WPA or WPA2. I'm assuming it is WPA2. Try different options (but not WEP). You may also have to do a firmware update. We had to do that for some Linksys ADSL modems before they would work with Apple wireles. Might save you a couple of dollars! All covered by warranty, but still a pain in downtime and swapping them out for a new one) Just my 2cents with anyway. However, if it's a setting, then a new modem may do the same as well. So if the Belkin isn't too old a model, may be worth revisiting the settings for it,as another idea as well ;) Hope that helps. If it is the model that can easily be opened to inspect the board it is also the model that suffers from Capacitor Plague. If ANY caps appear at all bulged or have a brownish mark on the top it is trash I'm afraid. Re: Genealogy software
Hi Lloyd Quite a lot of past discussion on this subject. See WAMUG archives and search Reunion. I'm not familiar with MacFamily, however I do use Reunion and can't fault it. A product dedicated to the Mac platform, its maker Leister Productions dropped Windows years ago. Support is terrific but you rarely need it anyway. Hi Lloyd I had been using Family Tree Maker for Windows for some time and earlier this year changed over to Reunion for Mac No doubt in my mind Reunion is much better Have no experience with Macfamily At that time of my changeover , most on the list who had been using FT packages were also of the view that Reunion was top of the list Graeme On 23/10/2010, at 11:52 AM, Lloyd White wrote: I have been looking at two genealogy programs for Mac - Reunion and MacFamily. they are less likely to pop open but some bulging on the top you can expect there is a chance in replacing them to get you mac going again, i have done that in many different power supplies cheers James On 23/10/2010, at 11:13, Paul K wrote: If it is the model that can easily be opened to inspect the board it is also the model that suffers from Capacitor Plague.
