Re: Number keys do not work
Thank you Ronni, I’ll do as you have suggested. With Daniel’s help, my MacBook Pro has given me very good service over the years. Re: Number keys do not work
Hello Michael, If the keys work on the external, your keyboard sounds like some of the keys are damaged or worn out :( Rather than suggest anything else to try, probably taking your MBP to Apple or a Apple Authorized Service Provider (MacWorx Joondalup). https://www.macworx.com.au/service Unfortunately your MacBook Pro (same model as my 17-Inch MBP) is too old and is not equipped with butterfly mechanism keyboard to qualify for free repairs of MacBook and MacBookPro models equipped with low-profile, butterfly mechanism keyboards. To replace the keyboard on your MBP would be very expensive even if anyone stocks that model keyboard. https://www.apple.com/au/support/keyboard-service-program-for-macbook-and-macbook-pro/ Cheers, Ronni Ronni Brown’s iPad Pro 12.9-inch 256GB > On 12 Mar 2019, at 11:55 am, Michael Hawkins > wrote: > > Hello and thank you Ronni, > > Sadly, It looks like the computer and I are both losing some functionality > with age: > Despite trying a number of times, resetting the SMC did not work. > > Cheers, > > Michael > > >> On 11 Mar 2019, at 5:28 pm, Ronni Brown wrote: >> >> Hi Michael, >> >> Reset the SMC on your MacBook Pro. >> 1. Re: Number keys do not work
Hello and thank you Ronni, Sadly, It looks like the computer and I are both losing some functionality with age: Despite trying a number of times, resetting the SMC did not work. Re: Number keys do not work
Hi Michael, Reset the SMC on your MacBook Pro. 1. Shutdown your MacBook Pro by choosing Shutdown from the Apple Menu 2. After your Mac shuts down, press Shift-Control-Option on the left side of the built-in keyboard, then press the Power button at the same time. Hold these keys and the power button for 10 seconds. 3. Release all keys 4. Press the power button again to turn on your computer Regards, Ronni Ronni Brown’s iPad Pro 12.9-inch 256GB > On 10 Mar 2019, at 6:24 pm, Michael Hawkins > wrote: > > The number keys on my MacBook Pro (17 inch, late 2011)(macOS High Sierra > 10.13.6) have stopped working (other than the key for “0” and “)”. Number keys do not work
The number keys on my MacBook Pro (17 inch, late 2011)(macOS High Sierra 10.13.6) have stopped working (other than the key for “0” and “)”. I’m using my bluetooth keyboard to write this email. The other keys in the row that includes the number keys do work, but the keys for symbols such as @*%^& do not. I have run Disc First Aid. T Any suggestions?
