I second that motion.

My experience with the little red wonders have been mixed. They will blow
if you try to read large amounts of current. Also, on the highest voltage
range there was a 50 v dc difference between the two meters I was using to

Another factor of the cheap meter in question is its size. I believe
it is smaller than the Harbor Freight units. Maybe that has a play in
the voltage limit.

No, but maybe they have them too. I got this one free from a fellow
broadcaster who was otherwise going to throw it away. It is really too
noisy (hiss) for my taste, but free is hard to beat, and I haven't
found a better rackmount mixer to replace it yet.

No, I paid $2.99. I placed an order from the flyer I received in the

The $2.99 meter at Harbor freight has removable leads, 1000VDC and
750VAC ranges, Ohms200 to 2000K, 10ADC and 200maAC and includes a
transistor tester and back lighting. I usually buy 5 each time I am
in there and I sometimes use them as panel meters in projects if there
is room behind the panel.
The proposal study seems to focus on the VHF/UHF FM repeaters (currently

This is a good deal on sale, but like fellow noted, 9 bucks to ship it is

The shipping to ZIP 17070 would have been $9.99 for 10 and $11.99 for 20, so
buy in bulk to get the most out of your shipping cost.
