Don't let it get to you. Your original post was fine. This is just
normal cake list banter.
Personally, I'm upset we don't yet have video tutorials. I vote for

Again, don't take it personally Greg. Despite what you might think,

Okay I know I opened a Pandora's box here, but I really didn't mean
to. When I requested a PDF, I was requesting that someone who had one
send it to me. I wasn't asking that the CookBook authors create me
one, nor was I asking for one to be published anywhere for public
use. I certainly wasn't

Now I'm _usually_ not one who likes to criticize, however:
Two things off the bat:
1. There's a TON of stuff missing (absolutely not AuthComponent),
which undoubtedly has to do with the date this was created and uploaded.

Sorry Nate. I really didn't think my request would cause such a
burden. I didn't mean to offend anyone, I was just asking if someone
already had the cookbook in PDF format (not create it for me).
Believe me if I knew you guys felt so strongly about the issue I
wouldn't have 'pressed it'.

Again Greg, that's 30 seconds of someone else's time. But it's really
more than that, since it would also have to be someone's
responsibility to keep said PDF updated with the Cookbook, which
changes often, sometimes hourly. Not to mention that it exists in a
dozen languages. So that's creating

I've told the documentation leader in CakePHP about the book and if he
can link to it ... but he didn't answer me !!
here is the link
Just get another pdf writer.

I would gladly do it if my PDF writer didn't crap out after page 2 of
the document.

Apart from the Bookmarks, page numbers and fluffwhat's the big deal in
hitting "All on one page" and print to PDF?
It isn't asking for the moon, but still, the thing just got off the ground
last month. As John has confirmed, this has been planned for...

I agree with Woodsman. But it's a nice to have. I think the goal
should be to complete the "manual" 1st.
Chris using your logic, what's the use of the 2 books coming out if
1.2 isn't finalized yet?

I also think that a lot of people would benefit from at least an
easily printable form of the book and api - and perhaps the cake devs
don't entirely disagree, seeing as the new cook book has options fo

The API is likely to change before 1.2 is labeled as being final, so I
would say providing a PDF of it is a waste.
