My 2
cents --- Just keep in mind that with this "dangerous"
combination of low profile tires on large diameter wheels (I'm not
talking about the insane 20-23" diameter wheels, just 17"
diameter), steering response and, therefore, accident avoidance and
safety of the occupants is greatly improved

Larry,
I bet that was a scream.

They have
real low aspect ratios (narrow side walls).
I have observed the "bicycle wheels" crowd lately growing in
numbers. They get the largest wheel diameter that will fit and put the
lowest aspect ratio tire on them. Not only does this look really weird,
but seems to me it can be very dangerou
Larry,
You're absolutely right. Typically though, directional tread design tires are
only used on "G" machines for handling. They have real low aspect ratios
(narrow side walls). Most guys just use regular performance radials which are
not directional (i.e. Cooper Cobra, Firestone SS, BF Goodric
I use to work with big equipment tires. nver had to keep track of what tire
went where! If there was a flat, change it and put it on the next
replacement. never had a problem with tire wear-seperation, etc. just a flat
or normal wear. thanks greg

Guys there still are directional tires out there. Lots of your performance
tires are directional.

Thanks Mark for clearing up the urban legend. I was a mechanic about 20
years ago, and back then they were saying that you couldn't reverse
direction on a radial tire. I tho

Should work fine. I have 275/60/15 on mine with 5.5 inches of back spacing
