That's not what I'm seeing. My defs get updated hourly, and the only update
I have seen today was for the macro.def, which did not do anything to help
F-Prot catch Mimail on my system, especially since this virus is not a macro
virus.
Have you actually seen proof that F-Prot caught this virus on
I'm running McAfee NetShield on the servers, where I can exclude certain
folders, e.g., the Imail Spool folder tree.

You might be correct but how do we know?
I have not been notified about a new release and I am on their mailing list.
They do not list it on their website.
They do not clearly spell it out. I am not sure what they actually mean in
their email.

Oddly enough, my fprot started catching the problem about 7 minutes before I
downloaded the latest version (3.14a) -- I presume due to the 8/4/03
signatures that downloaded automatically.

I have to agree with the others. One just came through about 2 hours ago and
using the latest def files from this morning.
I am extremely disappointed with f-prot.

Scott they were 11 different ones and in about
5 different directories. We run Serve-U on this
machine just for our employees access. No IIS,
or SQL. We do have web servers and SQL machines
running here but they run Grisoft and none of them
have had any instances. This machine is not mapped

installed. Its not catching messages with the
