You need to setup gnome-user-share to do that. That behavior isn't in
bluez anymore as I understand. That's an interesting upgrade problem
regarding bluez-utils since they share the same init scripts but bluez-
utils isn't a package anymore. I'll think about it.

I've verified with the 1.5.0~ppa5 version of bluez-gnome that OBEX
sendto and browsing functionality work.
The entire stack that we had in hardy should be regressionless with
these packages now.

The underlying problem is still an issue with the NVIDIA driver's
handling of offscreen windows. An upcoming NVIDIA release will resolve

I have some additional information for this bug after discussing the
issue with NVIDIA. The bug that is occurring is indeed a bug in their
driver, but requires large changes that won't be happening very soon.
This bug however, is only being exposed due to a patch that is added to
compiz, 030_fix_
lution wellcome as this is making my mythtv system unusable.

Indeed i'd say this is related to a gstreamer pipeline issue. I killed
pulseaudio so that my VMWare Workstation could use /dev/dsp, and gpm
decided to slowly complain. It grabbed 1.7 GB of physical RAM until I
killed it.

Public bug reported:
Most modern webcam and capture devices are V4L2 based, but gstreamer and
Ekiga both default to using V4L instead. The V4L API isn't even
available in 2.6 kernels beyond 2.6.15, so it makes much more sense to
disable it by default.
Webcam capture applications that use gstream
