I have been using Hardy Alpha 6 and have not (as yet) updated to the

However, I have not changed anything out of the ordinary, nor altered
the startup sequence or programs called.
The only things other than the default install that are enabled
My apologies; I have altered the package referred to.

I have tried the method that you stated; It was not .gconf that was
causing the problem, it would seem. I removed .gconf and booted to find
the same problem. I then removed .gnome2 from the home directory to user
the standard config for those files; the issue was rectified.

To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what configurations would lead to
this problem, could you advise any that I could change for this?

I haven't managed to identify the exact configuration that is causing

This issue is relatively new; It did not occur when I first installed
Gutsy on both the laptop and the desktop, using Nvidia and ATI cards
respectively, so I'm fairly certain it's not a graphics problem per-se.
The bug occurs from boot, no other steps are necessary to get the
problem.
