One thing that always gets me in the AGM meeting is how little I know about
what is going on in our organization. If you have any ideas about making
local chapters activities more visible to our community it would be
appreciated.

some pointers, which at the same time will be the start of a checklist for
future reference for other events. To be published in the Marketing wiki and

This is exactly what we are doing with OSGeo.BE.
Last edition (Mar 2017) we attended BeGeo[1], an event where more than
1000 GIS experts attend.
In 2018 the event will be even attract more people. We want to have a
booth there, and are also organising one of the 9 parallel tracks [2]:

I think it would be great of we promote events that OSGeo is attending in
an official capacity (like if a local chapter has a booth or something).
Guido has set up a number of guest appearances for OSGeo (mostly partner
events) in 2017 and we could of promoted our attendance a bit more.

Related to chanpter meetings (somewhat), we have a Regional Geo-event coming
together for this coming May. It will have a fairly high OSGeo footprint as
well.
The last event two years ago, pulled in 250 attendees, shooting for 300-350
