Hi Gordon and GM from Texas, I took a look at the English translation of the JARL site: http://www.jarl.or.jp/English/0-2.htm and downloaded the JA Band Plan. It looks to me like there are no 144 Mhz. repeater allocations - many simplex, but no repeaters. This certainly does not rule out 2M sim

Larry et al 1.2GHZ is the other D-Star band - many D-Star sites offer this frequency both voice and DD Mode (128K Data) Icom did make a Quad Band HT (I still Use it) for FM - the IC-T81A Nice little HT the same size as the IC91 & IC92. It covers 50, 144, 440 and 1.2 bands in one neat package
