I have no idea about cncprofi, but it seems it needs additional stepper for
Z axis unlike mesa thc make use of thc component and single existing z
stepper.
PLease correct me if I am wrong.

I finally had time for my project again and I bought the cncprofi one. I
managed to connect it to the plasma and it seems to work (shows up and

I'd bet it does both and it may even have a output for ark ok...

I'm not exactly sure, it has a connection named "CNC" and it might be
either an input for starting / stopping the cutting or an output for
measuring tip voltage.

You only need to monitor the cutting voltage of the arc.

Hi,
I recently bought a Plasma Cutter and built a CNC router and now I want
to add a Torch Height Control to it.
I found these models, does anyone have experience with them or
experience with other THC systems?

Hi John
EMC expects to get four signals, ArcOK, MoveUP or MoveDown and "Height
Probe"
Height Probe is used to set the initial pierce height (you don't have
any voltage signal at that point)
ArcOK is used to make sure that the torch is firing.
MoveUP and MoveDown are used to move the torch respe
Jarl,
Thanks for the info. Am I correct in assuming that from the hardware
end using your plasma-thc that I only need to supply a raise or lower
to EMC to make it work?
My current thoughts are to use a voltage divider from the plasma
voltage out pins to reduce the voltage to a 0 to 10vdc range an

Is there a way in EMC2 to read an analog signal of some sort
to control the Z axis of a Plasma Table? The arc voltage of the
torch changes with distance to the material. Any suggestions?
Thanks
John
