This is really no mystery, it's just that the neg holders are fairly

It would make sense that some people would experience worse banding than
others if the information I received from several sources is correct.
Most scanners use a tri-line CCD sensor chip. In all scanners I know of

I'll leave others to comment of appropriate scanners for your needs. If
the SS4000 had a bulk loader, it would probably be perfect, but to my
knowledge that's still on the drawing board.
I do hope you plan of keeping your film image collection someplace where
it can be reasonably archived
I can give you my opinion on part of this comparison. I have a SS4000,
bought 2 years ago at $1425. A friend of mine recently purchased a SS120. I
scanned a couple of 35mm slides on his 120 that I had previously scanned on
my 4000. My 4000 scans look great, but the 120 scans shows significantly
Maybe a dumb question (I'm tired).. :-)
Why does my image change so dramatically between white point 0.001 and
0? When tweaking white point, I find I get small useful changes down to
0.001, but if I try to go lower or to zero, the image suddenly drops VERY
dramatically in brightness/gamma.

It's a bug - zero was being treated as the same as setting
Color|Color balance to None. I've fixed this, and will
release it in 7.2.11.
I would think they need the cash. I would say that they deserve
their current financial situation in this regard.
I have nothing to do with Polaroid except that I own a SS4000. I'm shocked
to read this and I feel the need to respond. The financial situation you are

Hi folks
What optical resolution does offer the Minolta multi software for 24x65
negs?
If low, could the optical system be turned to max (4800dpi) by Vuescan,
like Ed made in the old Minolta MF?
Might be a good alternative for XPan users...
Thanks and best regards

Definitely not a common size (7 shots per roll of

They're exactly the same thing. Nikon's marketing name is
Super CoolScan 2000, but it's also called the LS-2000.
Pat,
Early next year we will be coming out with 6 x 17 panoramic support for the
SS120. I would think this would due the trick. There will be a glass holder
released to handle the 9 x 17 as well as any other odd formats.
