I think some clarification is needed hear. The Minolta medium format film
scanners which includes both the Scan Multi, Scan Multi II, and Scan Multi
Pro do not require one to scan in sections and do post scan stitching for
formats up to 6x9cm at the maximum optical resolutions for those formats

Simply stated, the Minolta Scan Multi Pro (and the various versions of the
Scan Multi) do not require you to stitch pieces of an image together in
Photoshop when scanning medium format film. This is true up to 6x9cm film.
If you can a bigger format such as 6x12 or 6

I had a 'bug' with 7.3.5 with slides scanned on FS4000. The scan was very long. I got a
muddy brown picture (flipped) when viewed in Photoshop. The histogram spanned only the
center portion of the display. The cure was simple. I just rebooted the computer!

On my SS 4000, Win98SE version 7.33 worked fine. Using version 7.35 with b&w
Tmax film the following happens:
1) Scan takes 15 minutes instead of about 3 minutes.
2) The image opens up in photoshop upside down and too light, with a histogram
that spans only about half the range. I selected "flip"
Is there anyone in the group who has managed to make the Perfection 2450
work with a firewire interface under Win98 SE. This could be either with
Viewscan or with the Epson TWAIN driver. The scanner works with a USB 1.1
but it is s..l..o..w..!

Are you talking about scanning an image that's bigger than what the scanner
can handle (say 6x17) and then stitching in Photoshop? Or, are you talking

This works once, but there are two unfortunate side
effects:
1. Every time that Vuescan is closed the driver seems
to need to be reloaded before Vuescan can be run
again.
2. The Minolta software crashes after loading the new
driver, and needs to be reinstalled.

Vuescan does not work with the MSMP and firewire under
W2k. But apparently it works well with SCSI
connection.
