Yes, I think I read it was a class project! That sure beat the simple
programs we had to write when I was taking computer classes.
Around 1996 I was looking for something easier to use than the company
terminal emulator we were provided, and I ended up getting "Distinct

Open Text, at our shop, is the 3270 emulator that Tech Services uses. It
was known as Hummingbird or Host Explorer. Everyone else uses BlueZone.
Looking, we also have an ftp client, LPQ, LPR, nslookup, traceroute, and
WyseTerm. But none of us use those.

I think you are correct about LISTDSI not being in the shell Rexx environment.
The various documents are not complete or consistent in what they say about TSO
"external" routines, and the description of exactly what "address TSO" in a
Rexx script run from the shell does for you with respect to
Thank you Hank. I was able to use those examples and your suggestion to get
something working that uses LISTDSI. I will post my results later after a bit
more experimentation.
It appears that LISTDSI is not *immediately* available in a Rexx script started
directly from the shell, but *IS* ava

I've used Dynosoft's Trex FIXVVDS - if you have Trex, their sample PDS

I would suggest DELETE x.y.z NSCR before the DEFINE though.

That looks like LISTDSI is not in the function package for the Unix shell.
IMHO, this is something that the documentation should explicitly mention in an
obvious location.
z/OS 2.5 TSO/E REXX Reference, SA32-0972-50. includes LISTDSI on p. 94 of

I think I've hear of Open Text, I'll have to check them out

Hi all,
I have this file for which the LISTCAT ends with RC(00) and tells me that
the file resides on VOLSER BPG023:

every block of storage. You can then use point-and-shoot on the address to
invoke the SDSF memory browse function to examine the contents. This
