Is this a bug? Because Cal isn't shown if the death date is calculated from
the birth date.

If you read the rest of the thread, it wasn't removed - CAL is only
shown when the birth date is calculated from the death date...
Sincerely,
I would like to know the same thing, Jan. I have been doing this for 21
years and I have no lines back further than the 1600s.

Hi Judy,
The topic of double dating is covered in Mastering Legacy: Names, Dates
Places.
Geoff's suggestion was not to select double dating preference when you select
optionscustomize.
You entered your date as 3 Jan 1721/1722, instead enter 3 Jan 1721/22. That
should do it.

My ancestors were all very poor, and most lived below the radar. With
my father's family, I feel lucky to have gotten
to 1850 in one line. In my mother's it is easier. Her mother was from
a group of Bucks County people who actually owned land. I can get my
father's mother to a ship manifest,

What you have to do is be fortunate to connect up to one of the many American
colonists that have noble/royal lines. Since these lines have been researched
and verified by 'experts' and documented with sources that have copies that can
be acquired. We don't get to pick who we are born to.
Jan -
Thank you so much for your reply to my request for help. At least now I know
it is not me. I can quit racking my brain on how to deal with step-children.
I am like you, I feel that the step-children are part of our family history and
should be included.
Thanks you again. This was
Some of my 'Germans' were in Württemberg. On the FamilySearch webpages, church
extractions have helped me get back to the 1670s. Use caution.

Thanks Margaret and Alan
However, your suggestions do not help. The problem is that I have 2
different change over dates for double dating (England and Scotland). If I
turn off double dating and enter 3 Jan 1721/22., It becomes 3 Jan 1722.. If
I set double dating to 2500 as suggested by Alan,
In my case I descend from prominent colonists who came to America in the early
17th century and who came from English nobility. Although not 100% accurate,
their genealogies are well documented going back many centuries. If you can
connect with English or Scottish nobility, it is relatively
In family view my picture gallery icon is highlighted for individuals, but not

I did a file maintenance and I still do not have a highlighted picture gallery
icon for my burials.
Any suggestions?

This is a known problem, it has been fixed and will be in the next
update to Legacy. The lack of colour applies to chr/bap, death, burial.
If you have a picture on the birth then the icon is fully coloured when
it should only be half coloured. It works correctly for pictures linked
to events.
