I suspect that your problem will be coming from the fact that
screenshots are ~75-90 dpi, but that you are then printing them on a
page at something like 300 dpi. Normally this means that the images are
scaled up so that they have the right number of pixels on the page. This

means that after the publisher's graphiker is done prepping the images
that I will place them in the book using his eps/tiff files.

The weird thing is, some of the times a pdf file was generated.
Unfortunately, in the images that came out the latex text was displayed
but not the postscript part (the lines and other stuff).

The script has a "legacy" mode for older versions of XFig such as yours.

While using the default book document class, I've been experimenting
with trying to insert a small graphic on the title-page, and on the
separate pages for Parts, etc. preferably centered; but have had
little luck.
