I was lucky enough to receive a smartboard a little over a month ago, and I
LOVE it! I'm still looking through the websites for great lessons, so I'd
also be appreciative of any input the group has.
I do have one particular website that I have found many wonderful lessons
on. There are primary

Lucy Calkins The Art of Teaching Reading and The Art of Teaching Writing would
do it for me, but in all honest, it would help if helped us all understand
where you are in your journey and exactly what you want to gain from summer
reading.

This looks like a great site - thanks for sharing. We have Promethean
Boards - does anyone know if there is a way to use Smartboard files on the
Promethean?

Ah, good question. Our teachers have been using Mosaic and Strategies
That Work as guides for the past three years. I'm asking for
suggestions to make to our Professional Growth Committee who makes
summer reading suggestions to the faculty as a whole.
Thanks for your recommendations.

Hello, My name is Brian and I have just completed my student teaching at Wayne
State University. I instructed third grade and had the privilege of having a
SmartBoard in my classroom. A few things I did with the SmartBoard were:
1. I used an interactive site called Internet 4 classrooms. This

Hello,
I am a student teacher in a classroom where many students are achieving below
their current grade level. Students are rarely engaged in reading assignments
and seldom read as a leisure activity. As a result, many students are unable
to pass assessments related to reading assignments.
When working with reluctant or struggling readers, you need to see yourself
differently. You cannot simply the facilitator of a one-size fits most
curriculum. You need to become a Book Pimp!! You have to sell reading like
you've never sold reading. Know three things and know them well:
