Bob,
IBM has created a Redbook Websphere MQ in a z/OS Parallel Sysplex
Environment (sg246864) that explains (almost) everything you want top
know.
A small tip: Next to Shared local queues define everything else as a
GROUP,
you will find out why.
Good luck.

I am looking for a way to remove messages from a transmission queue after a period of
time.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?
We have multiple methods of delivery of data to a remote site. If for some reason the
path
from the local MQ to the remote box is down, I want a mechan

Hi.
1. Has anyone came across the situation
where he or she needed more than 3 default channel
initiators(Unix/Windows/5.2)?
2. How did you come to realize that you need more
than 3 default ones?
3. Was performance significantly improved
after more initiators were added?

If you issue the command directly to the subsystem, it works when the queue

I did RTFM and can't find any reference to how this
Hi Ben,
It sounds like MQSI is placing messages on the DLQ.

Are you running your Windows qmgr with CP 1252? What are you using to
determine the "correctness of the code points to which the conversions are
made?
I posted on this subject recently (14th Jan and 22 Jan)

Ian,
Thanks for that. Is this documented anywhere ? Are
there any parameters to configure the frequency ? Do
you know why it always ends with a SQL +100 code, and
why it causes DB2 thread abends ?

If MQ V2.1 is newly installed on then, you'll probably have to reset your
channels due to message sequence errors.

I am not 100% sure but I would think it depended on how they are defined in
your MQSeries system. If you have used the dotted IP address then I would
expect that you would have to respecify. If you have used the symbolic name
I would have expected you to be OK.

We recently did something similar and suffered somewhat on the MF due to
TTL. If you rely on DNS, then switching the IP addresses are dependent on a
thing called TTL (time to live). The Chinits (or should I say LE) will
