Yes, that's exactly what I want. Thanks.
Is there a tutorial on how to manage Tables with net-snmp?

Hi Dave:
sorry for no clear description!
I just compiled the samples on the web of "Sub-Agent Demon

master
agent, but when I try to do any snmpget commands I get: "No Such

No - not that I know of.

I execute the command 'kill -15 PID' on the two servers
For the master agent, I put in the configuration file the parameter:
agentxsocket /home/arnboden/snmp/test/masterFile
For the subagent, I set it dynamically in the code of the subagent:
netsnmp_ds_set_string(NETSNMP_DS_APPLICATION_ID, NETSNM
Hi All:
Who can tell me where are the subagent.conf ?
I just run my own agent without the snmpd daemon, while there be such outputs:
Warning: no access control information configured.
It's unlikely this agent can serve any useful purpose in this state.
Run "snmpcon

If you haven't created one, then it won't exist.

Hi Sir,
i have a problem in my snmpd. i use the version ucd-snmp 4.2.5 , when i try to execute a shell using ucdavis by typing:
"exec /bin/sh /home/test.sh" in snmpd.conf which the shell just print "hello world", it works properly.
But after i add my extended agent to the snmpd.conf by
Q: I'm not sure where you got the:
A: It's one of the syntax that I try. Is the same than

0x3:0xFD where the second bit is set to zero.
Maybe this example can be add to the FAQ or to the
snmpd.conf example.
Thanks,
Dominique

Please note that both of these versions are several years old, and
development has been effectively closed down for some time.

Errr... no.
I suggested 0xffa0 which e
I just said tha the explaination of the mask is not
clear and the padding that you add at the end (the
five bit set to 0) to make the thing work is not
obvious. It's why my not working mask is the same than
you but without the padding.
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm using the net-snmp shipped by Sun as part of Solaris 10. I'd like to
monitor interface traffic on Gig-E interfaces, but can't get any output
from the ifXTable. Is ifXTable currently supported at all by net-snmp,
and is it supported on Solaris?
Thanks,

Hello all,
How can I make snmptrap more useful? Right now I can only recieve
unsolicited trap messages, and I can generate snmptrap using the snmptrap
command. A book I have says that I should write a script that monitors key
processes and generate traps when any interesting events take place.

This is excellent news. Any estimate on when it may be finished? We're
planning to start the 5.4 release cycle in September. Wouldn't be too
bad to ship 5.4 with your patches included. :-)
