Nothing unusual to report, but a great day to spend a couple hours at
Jamaica Bay NWR, with a steady, soft breeze carrying away insects and
humidity. Waders were excellent: Both Night Herons, occasionally side by
side, both the Blue Herons, Snowy and Great Egrets, plus ample Glossy
Ibises. Least
After noticing shorebirds on the way by this field in the afternoon, I
resolved to come back with a scope in the evening. I met Dave Wheeler there
and the two of us, later joined by Dave Muller, had 10 species of
shorebirds, with the highlight being an UPLAND SANDPIPER! Along with

A big thanks to Bob Gochfeld for posting my sighting. Just a brief
follow up with a little more details. I was sitting on the beach at
Riis Park, Bay 14, with my wife. At approximately 12:55pm, she
