I am somewhat late in replying, but there's another WinSoft product, this
one is said to be multi platform: Objects at
http://www.winsoft.sk/objects.htm. I've given it a run in the past and was
quite pleased with it.

If you don't want to use C/C++ but still want an industrial strength
solution then I whole heartedly recommend Winsoft PocketStudio3. It is
Object Pascal for the Palm and comes with a lot of examples (around 70
at last count) ranging from accessing the Memo/Address Book, getting the
battery
Have a look at NS Basic/Palm as well. It's very widely used.

The satellite holds my interest mainly because of its claim to support both
Pocket PC and Palm applications. In other words, I could build for a palm
device then change my target

Actually the Handheld Basic (HB++) beats Sattelite Forms on all aspects,
including productivity, performance, and price.
