As a quick ref guide,
Bosch – cap is held on with LARGE spring clips.
Lucas – cap is held on with 2 small screws.

Is there a matchbox sized black box on the side of the distributor held on
with 2 screws/ bolts and a 3 wire connector ,try changing that known as
ignition module/ amplifier.
